Maud Gonne就是女主角的名字了，但是他们之间的爱情故事从没开始过。

叶芝爱了Maud Gonne一辈子，以她为原型创作了很多诗歌。也许求而不得的爱情就是诗人们的缪斯，但丁有Beatrix，彼得拉克有Laura，西德尼有Lady Penelope，莎士比亚有dark lady，叶芝有Maud Gonne。

Down by the salley gardens

my love and I did meet;

She passed the salley gardens

with little snow-white feet.

She bid me take love easy,

as the leaves grow on the tree;

But I, being young and foolish,

with her would not agree.

In a field by the river
