专业知识｜【英语】伦敦押韵俚语

押韵俚语是一种伦敦东区人说的“黑话”，起源于19世纪中期，主要是商人、工人、小偷等“下层人士”为躲避警察、老板而进行交流时所用的话语。随着时代发展，这些话原有功能已经不复存在，但是当地人仍旧会在日常生活中使用它们。
【14组常见押韵俚语】
1.apples and pears = stairs 楼梯
eg: I'm going up the apples to bed.（我要上楼睡觉去了。）
2.dog and bone = phone 电话
eg: He's on the dog and bone.（他在打电话）
3.Al Capone = telephone 电话，和上一条表示的意思一样。Al Capone是一个臭名昭著的美国匪徒
eg：He's always on his Al Capone.（他总是在看手机）
4.Barney Rubble = trouble 麻烦 eg：If I'm not home soon, I'm in a lot of Barney.（如果我不马上回家，就会有一大堆的麻烦。）
5.bees and honey = money 钱
eg：My new shirt was a lot of bees. （我的新衬衫很贵。）
6.bubble bath = laugh 开玩笑
eg：You’re having a bubble.（你一定在开玩笑。）
7.China Plate = mate 伙伴
eg：Hello, me old China. How are you?（嘿，老朋友。你最近怎么样？）
8.pork pies = lies 谎言，把Pork和Pies合在一起发音，就组成了俚语Porkies，表示谎言的意思。
eg：You’re telling me porkies.（你在说谎。）
9.Hank Marvin = starving 很饿
eg：I’m completely Marvin.（我饥肠辘辘。）
10.Ruby Murray = Curry 咖喱
eg: Let’s have a Ruby tonight.（我们今晚吃咖喱吧。）
11.Loaf of Bread = Head 头
eg: Use your loaf!（用你的脑子想想！）
12.Hampstead Heath=teeth 牙齿
13.fire alarms＝arms 手臂
14.German bands＝hands 手
