Chapter 10: The Rogue Bludger

Rogue: a person who behaves badly, but in a harmless way。

Bludger： 魁地奇比赛里面的游走球。

游走球本来是无差别攻击的，但是在本章的这场比赛里却只追着Harry攻击，所以说它Rogue；不过最后Harry为了捉住金色飞贼，放弃了躲避，被它撞伤了，所以也不能说它是Harmless。

节选一：

Hermione shut the book with a snap.

“Well, if you two are going to chicken out, fine,” she said. There were bright pink patches on her cheeks and her eyes were brighter than usual. “I don’t want to break rules, you know. I think threatening Muggle-borns is far worse than brewing up a difficult potion. But if you don’t want to find out if it’s Malfoy, I’ll go straight to Madam Pince now and hand the book back in —”

“I never thought I’d see the day when you’d be persuading us to break rules,” said Ron. “All right, we’ll do it. But not toenails, okay?”

由于密室传说威直接威胁的是Muggle-borns的生命， 这一次赫敏比harry他们都更加的积极主动，甚至主动提出要做违禁药水去找出真相。

比起之前Ron和Harry略显莽撞的行为（几乎没有计划性），Hermione的计划更加的复杂和大胆，直接挑战Snape，还可能违反一大堆校规。看到Harry和Ron有些犹豫，Hermione生气了，说如果你们害怕的话（chicken out）就算了，我才是那个不想违反校规的好吗，但是我认为比起违反校规和制作违禁药品，麻瓜的生命受到威胁是更严重的一件事情。

之后一系列操作让人目瞪口呆，利用lockhard的虚荣心拿到违禁书借条，授意Harry在Snape课上捣蛋，去Snape的办公室偷违禁药品，在有女鬼的厕所偷偷制药。

只要能够说服自己，即使是做起违反校规的事情来，也是学霸更有魄力啊。

节选二：

The rain was falling more heavily now. On Madam Hooch’s whistle, Harry kicked hard into the air and heard the telltale whoosh of the Bludger behind him. Higher and higher Harry climbed; he looped and swooped, spiraled, zigzagged, and rolled. Slightly dizzy, he nevertheless kept his eyes wide open, rain was speckling his glasses and ran up his nostrils as he hung upside down, avoiding another fierce dive from the Bludger. He could hear laughter from the crowd; he knew he must look very stupid, but the rogue Bludger was heavy and couldn’t change direction as quickly as Harry could; he began a kind of roller-coaster ride around the edges of the stadium, squinting through the silver sheets of rain to the Gryffindor goal posts, where Adrian Pucey was trying to get past Wood —

A whistling in Harry’s ear told him the Bludger had just missed him again; he turned right over and sped in the opposite direction.

“Training for the ballet, Potter?” yelled Malfoy as Harry was forced to do a stupid kind of twirl in midair to dodge the Bludger, and he fled, the Bludger trailing a few feet behind him; and then, glaring back at Malfoy in hatred, he saw it — the Golden Snitch.It was hovering inches above Malfoy’s left ear — and Malfoy, busy laughing at Harry, hadn’t seen it.

For an agonizing moment, Harry hung in midair, not daring to speed toward Malfoy in case he looked up and saw the Snitch.

WHAM.

He had stayed still a second too long. The Bludger had hit him at last, smashed into his elbow, and Harry felt his arm break. Dimly, dazed by the searing pain in his arm, he slid sideways on his rain-drenched broom, one knee still crooked over it, his right arm dangling useless at his side — the Bludger came pelting back for a second attack, this time aiming at his face — Harry swerved out of the way, one idea firmly lodged in his numb brain: get to Malfoy.

这一段描写很精彩，通过描写一场惊险的雨中躲避 rogue Bludger 以及发现金色飞贼的过程，一个有勇有谋的少年形象跃然纸上。

躲避的过程中用了几个形象的动词：looped（绕圈） and swooped（俯冲）, spiraled（螺旋上升或下降）, zigzagged（z字型运动）, and rolled（翻滚）。好几次都差点被撞上，真的就像是Malfoy嘲笑他说的“跳芭蕾”，太惊险刺激了！

戏剧的是，最后Harry转头瞪Malfoy的时候，发现金色飞贼就在对方脑袋上，而他因为忙于嘲笑Harry了，竟然没有发现。当Harry思考如何不让Malfoy发现金色飞贼，而自己又能抓到它的时候，Harry被bludger重重撞击到了。

在他一只胳膊被撞废的情况下，伴随着钻心的疼痛，Harry满脑子想的仍然是自己的目标——如何抓到金色飞贼。最后他想到了，就是全速冲向Malfoy。

这一段描写中Malfoy真是又蠢又坏，而Harry则完全担得起智勇双全这四个字，优秀！

这一章后来Dobby还出场了，承认了关于站台关闭和今天的游走球失控事件都是它捣的鬼。Ron听说后，很无语是说了一句大实话：“ If he doesn’t stop trying to save your life he’s going to kill you.”

也不知道啥时候这个小精灵才能明白，他所谓好心做的事情给别人带来了多大的困扰。

Chapter 11: The Dueling Club

决斗俱乐部。

节选一：

“Let me introduce my assistant, Professor Snape,” said Lockhart, flashing a wide smile. “He tells me he knows a tiny little bit about dueling himself and has sportingly agreed to help me with a short demonstration before we begin. Now, I don’t want any of you youngsters to worry — you’ll still have your Potions master when I’m through with him, never fear!”

“Wouldn’t it be good if they finished each other off?” Ron muttered in Harry’s ear.

Snape’s upper lip was curling. Harry wondered why Lockhart was still smiling; if Snape had been looking at himlike that he’d have been running as fast as he could in the opposite direction.

这一段真是笑死我了，标准的“没头脑和不高兴”。Lockhart这个蠢人把Snape称为是assistant，还说人家只懂“a tiny little bit”决斗术，他真的不怕被毒死吗？

Ron这个吐槽小能手又上线了：最好是他们都能把对方结果了。

Harry的腹诽也很搞笑：要是Snape用那幅表情看我，我肯定早就朝着反方向拔腿就跑了。

节选二：

“I heard you speaking Parseltongue,” said Ron. “Snake language. You could have been saying anything — no wonder Justin panicked, you sounded like you were egging the snake on or something — it was creepy, you know —”

Harry gaped at him.

“I spoke a different language? But — I didn’t realize — how can I speak a language without knowing I can speak it?”

Ron shook his head. Both he and Hermione were looking as though someone had died. Harry couldn’t see what was so terrible.

“D’you want to tell me what’s wrong with stopping a massive snake biting off Justin’s head?” he said. “What does it matterhowI did it as long as Justin doesn’t have to join the Headless Hunt?”

“It matters,” said Hermione, speaking at last in a hushed voice, “because being able to talk to snakes was what Salazar Slytherin was famous for. That’s why the symbol of Slytherin House is a serpent.”

Harry’s mouth fell open.

“Exactly,” said Ron. “And now the whole school’s going to think you’re his great-great-great-great-grandson or something —”

“But I’m not,” said Harry, with a panic he couldn’t quite explain.

“You’ll find that hard to prove,” said Hermione. “He lived about a thousand years ago; for all we know, you could be.”

这一段的信息量很大。

首先出现了一个新的术语——Parseltongue，Parselmouth，也就是Snake language，蛇语，有的翻译成“蛇佬腔”。

让人感到奇怪的是，Harry说这门语言的时候意识不到自己在说一门完全不一样的语言，甚至意识不到自己在和蛇对话。这是第二次，之前是还不知道自己是魔法师的时候，有一次去动物园，把一条巴西蛇从蛇馆里放出来了。

会说蛇语很神奇，即使是对于魔法世界的人来说都是极少数，而最著名的蛇语者就是活在一千年前的Salazar Slytherin。Ron直接猜测Harry身上也许有Slytherin的血统。既然Harry没有经过学习就拥有了某一种能力，那血统遗传确实是唯一合理的解释。

另外，发现Slither（蛇形）和Slytherin这两个单词很像。蛇院总是离不开蛇的意象，大概这个名字就是从这个单词幻化来的吧。

联系之前sorting hat想把他分到蛇院，Harry内心是有些慌的，他害怕自己身上真有Slytherin的血统。

Harry想要否认自己和黑暗魔法的关系，但恐怕每个人身上都有所谓“不好”的特质，成长就是要学会接受和理解自己身上看起来不好的地方。

人们说只有黑魔法师才会蛇语，就好像是会蛇语的都是黑魔法师一样，可明明蛇语只是一门语言。语言没有善恶，使用它的人才分善恶。

因为使用蛇语，虽然是帮人，却被大家都误解了。这个锅算是Harry为他的祖先背的吧。
