「桐山环太平洋文学奖」(Kiriyama Pacific Rim Book Prize)

「桐山环太平洋文学奖」(Kiriyama Pacific Rim Book Prize)的名称来自于其创办人桐山靖雄（Seiyu Kiriyama），桐山靖雄为日本的一位宗教家，他见证了二次世界大战对环太平洋地区国家的伤害，认为应增进环太平洋地区所有国家和人民的和平与繁荣，故创办了非营利组织「太平洋圈之声」(Pacific Rim Voice)，并于1996年开始举办此文学奖，目的是希望能透过文学，促进太平洋圈与南亚的国家、人民间相互了解，并对符合此精神的文学创作加以鼓励。 　　桐山文学奖为一国际奖项，参选作品必须是该年度内出版的英文原著或英译本，1996年至1998年的奖项不分类，1997年开始奖项区分为小说(Fiction)与非小说(Nonfiction)两类，得奖者分别可获得美金1万5000元的奖金，往年本奖项均于每年10月宣布得主，2004年开始，改为每年3月宣布去年一年内出版的文学作品中，谁获得此殊荣。 2008年 Fiction： Lloyd Jones Mister Pip Nonfiction： Julia Whitty The Fragile Edge: Diving and Other Adventures in the South Pacific 2007年 Fiction ：Haruki Murakami Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman Nonfiction： Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace...
