The Experience of Captain Guo in Hawaii Waters It is October 2016, the captain finished his holiday in San Francisco after his last sailing that he sailed throughout the Arctic Ocean into the Pacific with his international team by Qingdao sailing vessel and upgrade the world record. He is Guo Chuan, a Chinese captain, thirsty for sea and extreme. What is more, he is the first to be professional sailor, the first Asiatic to complete Volvo Ocean Race(沃尔沃环球帆船赛), the first Chinese to sail throughout the English Channel... After all, he is surrounded by glories. Sailing single-handed around the Pacific is scheduled on October, 18th. The sun was shining brightly, the breeze touched his face. He was intended to challenge the sea again. The gold of this sailing is to rewrite record that was belong to other sailor. “I am fine. Sailing is smooth, so I can proceed the sailing as planed and land in Nov. 5th or 6th .” It is the contents he got in touch with his team on the bank when he was in the waters around Hawaii that there is sufficient sunshine and blue water. Nonetheless, later, almost at 15 o’clock, his team on the bank can’t touch with him after observing that the speed of the triple-hulled vessel(大三角帆) is slow. So the team seek American maritime search-and-rescue help. According to all the information that American maritime search-and-resume team can got ,captain Guo was confirmed drowned. After a few days, American maritime search-and-resume team closed to Guo Chuan’s triple-hulled vessel and landed on. On the triple-hulled vessel, they just find a life jacket. Therefor, all the people speculated that Guo Chuan was likely to wear other life jacket(There are always tow more life jackets.). Due to the thunder and heavy rain(as the picture showed), American maritime withdrew and stopped search-and-rescue work. Meanwhile more and more Chinese ships started to search-and-rescue work. Chinese media calls on all the capable people to help Guo Chuan. Nov. 1st ,2016, the maritime bureau of Florida delivered information that Guo Chuan still is alive and on fishing-boat of native people. Tow days later, Guo Chuan turned up at New York airport and gave an interview, “Thanks for all of the people, I’m fine now. The only thing I want is to be back my country, my family members is waiting for me.” When gale broke his mast, he came to fix up without safety rope. Ultimately he drowned and he had floated on the sea with life jacket for six days. Fortunately, he was saved.
