身处信息平民化的时代，地理间距彷佛可以被忽略，欧洲和亚洲近得可以听见彼此的呼吸。这个夏天，国际化的设计课堂就在杭州,让不同国家不同文化不同语言,相同专业相同心态相同追求的年轻设计朋友们相聚杭州，在湖光山色中探讨设计的现代特征：当今世界东西方设计课堂的迥异、课堂知识的学以致用、设计竞争的现状、设计舆商业的联系、设计风格的变迁、设计思潮的背景、语言文化审美的影响, 更多的探讨内容将是凤凰设计工作坊的话题。
工作坊所有的指导老师都是出生于七八十年代的优秀设计师，有丰富的课堂教授经验，更有独立设计师身份，和洞察设计市场的亲身体验。在专业领域他们也曾遇到困难，也曾取得成就。他们独特的专业见解、设计元素中的实战经验将是这个夏季课堂的精彩分享。

In the age of information, distance between Europe and Asia is getting closer as if we could feel each other's breathing. This summer young designers who share the same interests and dreams will have the opportunity to get together in Hangzhou, having international design courses. While they are from different countries, having different cultural backgrounds and speaking different languages. They can explore both natural and cultural landscape of contemporary design features. The Phoenix Design Workshops include similarities and differences between eastern and western design classes in the contemporary world, application of knowledge from design classes, the current situation of competitiveness in design, the relation between design and commerce, the transformation of design style, the background of the ideological trends of design, the influences of cultural languages on aesthetics, etc.
All lecturers of the workshops are outstanding designers who were born in the 70s and 80s. Beside teaching experiences, they're indeed working as independent designers and they have their own unique insights on the design market. Behind their fame and achievements in the professional field there are certain obstacles and difficulties they have to tackle. These designers are going to share their professional views on practical experiences with us.

课程1——标识设计（杭州城市形象设计) 指导设计师：Toan Vu-Huu （德国／法国）
课程内容：标识设计的目的是将一个理念转化成一个可视的符号，将信息图形化传递给受众，客户期望利用可视的图形传递自己的价值观：如对历史、情感、知识、质量的表达等能够体现文化的元素，标识必须成为这些重要元素的核心聚集，直至20世纪，设计师们通常情况下仍是采用这种方式。而现代社会，标识设计变得机动灵活，标识不再是一个独立的图形，设计师在印刷工艺、多媒体等现代传播媒介的帮助和影响下，需依据现代媒介形式的变化多样，充分考虑到标识设计的后期延展开发，这舆极权主义时代，用一张邮票贴满所有空白空间的做法不同，标识的机动性变得越来越强，好比一些生物为适应环境逐渐进化了自身形态。
本课程的任务是，为“杭州”城市做一个标识创作，标识创作展示的不再是已经为公众所知的杭州，而是学生们个人探索到的、隐藏于公众所知之外的杭州，标识创作更多的是希望能够传递学生对杭州的个人体验，将自己对杭州独特的理解和感悟融入到设计作品中，创造一个生动、活力、形象多变的杭州新形象。在课堂，学生们将摈弃传统的标识设计的思维模式，尝试寻找一种先验式的思考方式。
Class 1﹣Corporate Identity ／Hangzhou Lecturer: Toan Vu-Huu （Germany／France)
Content: The aim of a corporate identity is to transport a philosophy or motto to a sender (mostly companies) to its receivers (mostly clients). Senders are communicating via visual identities of their values, such as histories, feelings, expressions, knowledges or other attributes, which are representing themselves. The creation of a logo or trademark has to become the essential concentration of all important attributes: an ultimate form. This is how it was mostly handled until the 20th century. Nowadays, visual identities got more flexible and are designed to readapt with ever changing formats and supports like printed matter、multimedia、signage systems and scenography. Instead of a totalitarian logo, which is used like a stamp on every available white space, logos became more alive like organisms which are modifiable and adjustable in different contexts and situations.
The class project is to create a visual identity for the Hangzhou city, which reflects more the personal experiences of the students and less the common global values. The question is not to represent obvious qualities, but the hidden values that were discovered by individuals. Every student will work on the design carrying his own values which could create a living, dynamic and flexible image of the Hangzhou city. The students will learn to work and think without being limited by common logo conventions and will develop their ideas in experimental ways.
课程2——书籍设计 指导设计师：何见平（德国）
课程内容：书香迷离，设计寐影。
平面设计师关注书，会比普通人多一份细致：关注书的设计形式、用纸讲究、装订工艺、印刷技巧、包装环节……研究印刷中的折、迭、裁、切、压、烫、裱、拓、撕……因为太专注这些，有时忘了何谓好书的原点，好的书必须先俱备好的内容，美的设计形式只能为好书如虎添翼，却不能使内容低下的书起死回生。好的书总能为自己寻找归属。
Class 2﹣Book Design Lecturer: Jianping He (Germany)
Content: The spirits of books are fascinating, they spread their fragrance far and wide, and good contents are like words singing and dancing in the books.
However, graphic designers have more concern about books than readers do: they pay close attention to the form of the book, to paper selection、to binding craftsmanship、to the printing technique、to the packaging……they are even concerned with procedures like folding、stacking、cropping、cutting、 pressing、gilding、framing、extending and tearing……Sometimes they forget the original idea of a good book when they focused too much on these techniques. A good content is necessary for a good book, while a good design reinforces the contents of the book, however no matter how good the design is, it’s not possible to improve the quality of bad contents and save the book.
课程3——视觉游戏 指导设计师：BANK/Laure Boer（德国）
课程内容：舆来自BANK设计工作室的Laure Boer的视觉之旅。该课程是一个学习怎样表现创意的课程，如何策略性的打破传统技法，尝试探索到新的表现方式呢？在这一探索课程后，你要能够至少用五个步骤诠释表现自己的创意，这些步骤间相互衔接，相互影响。课程需要的设备：扫描仪、照相机、复印机、投影仪、灯光、镜子等。当然，学生也可以使用其他任何辅助工具，如：纸张 、油彩、墨水、卡板、胶水、胶带等，在上课过程中除了需要保存数据以外，最好不使用到电脑。
Class 3﹣Fool Your Brain Lecturer: BANK/Laure Boer (Germany)
Content:Visual processes with Laure Boer from BANK. The Class is about creative processes or how to build strategies to fool your brain and formal habits in order to explore new ways of creation. After exploring processes and what it involves, you will define your own process with a minimum of 5 steps. Each step will bring results that you will reuse in the next step and so on. The working material consists of projecting and visual recording material such as scanner, camera, video camera, printer, photocopier, video projector, overhead projector, lights and mirrors. In addition you use all the material you like to work with: e.g. paper、pen、paint、ink、cardboard、glue、tape、scissors、cutter、 etc.The computer will only be used for saving the materials unless you want to consciously include it in your process.
课程4——字体与编排设计 指导设计师：Stefan Claudius（德国）
课程内容：作为平面设计师，应该系统的认识了解拉丁字体，因为每一种字体都有其特定的不可复制性。通过本课程学习，让学生能够对不同的字体有初步的认知，在字体选择时能自主甄别、筛选。比如，有的字体可读性强，有的字体传达的感情更为友善，而有的字体传达的讯息则平淡冷漠......该课程将根据字体的属性迥异逐一分析，引导学生重视字体在平面设计中举足轻重的作用。
判断设计的好与怀，往往看这一设计是否打破或是遵从了传统的规则，打破传统固然是好，但前提必须了解传统法则，课程结束后，同学们能够对印刷编排的规则，以及字体设计的细节有自己的了解和认识，以此帮助他们在做设计时，做出更好、更合适的选择。
Class 4﹣Font Design and Layout Design Lecturer: Stefan Claudius (Germany)
Content: Designers should have a better insight into Latin type, because every type is indispensable for a proper use. My aim is to give students a precise idea of what different kinds of typefaces there are, how to distinguish them from each other and what their specific profiles are. Some are better readable than others, some have a friendly character while others have a technically cold one. The course will lead students to a more reasonable and more sensitive use of type.
What is important for the judgement of a design, is to be able to tell if rules were broken or followed, for it can be very good to break rules sometimes, but first one has to know them. At the end of the workshop the students should have a feeling for principal composition rules and for basic microtypography in order to help them to come to better design decisions.

课程1——海报设计 指导设计师： Goetz Gramlich （德国）
课程内容：“人之于世，并不在于他见了多少众生尚未能见，而在于他能于众生之见中存众人之所未能念”。这是德国著名哲学家的一句名言，这也正是本课程我想传达给同学们的。“视”舆“思”是平面设计的两个关键词，无论设计师们采用甚么样的形式：排版、插画或者是抽象的概念，最终都取决于“视”舆“思”这两个词，我深信这一观念会为课程中我们的讨论舆合作打下良好的基础。
Class 1﹣Poster Design Lecturer: Goetz Gramlich (Germany)
Content: "The task is not so much to see what no one yet has seen, but to think what nobody yet has thought about that which everybody sees." To me, this is a beautiful quote by one of Germany's most famous philosopher. It's something I would like to impart to the students. The two concepts, "seeing" and "thinking", are key to graphic design. Yet, what designers they do with these concepts - in terms of typography, illustration and abstraction - is entirely up to them. I believe this forms a good basis for discussion and collaborative work!
课程2——书籍设计 指导设计师：赵清 （中国）
课程内容：“壁上观”——在我的获奬海报以及入选世界各大海报展的近百张海报创作中，我视海报设计为训练自己思维方式的方法，即思考、梳理、整合、完成，课程中将阐述每张海报的创作过程，我认为，好设计是形舆意的完整统一。
“十书谈”——我的书籍设计，课程将介绍十余本曾获ONESHOW DESIGN、D&AD、RED DOT及代表中国书籍设计高水平的“中国最美的书”得奬作品的设计过程，通过对书籍内容的板块分析，了解设计师赋予书籍的情感思路、设计技巧等。
Class 2﹣Book Design Lecturer: Qing Zhao (China)
Content: "Looking from the side"--my poster design which awarded and in my creation of nearly one hundred posters which are chosen by worldwide major poster exhibitions, I view poster design as a good way to train my way of thinking--thinking、organizing、integrating、completing, and demonstrate that the creation of each poster and the idea that a good design is the perfect combination of form and meaning.
"Talks on Ten Books" -- my book design, introduce the design procedure of the more than ten books which awarded: ONESHOW DESIGN、D&AD、RED DOT and "the most beautiful books in China" which represents a high level of chinese book design. Confirming the unique design idea of each book by analyzing the contents of the book.
课程3——概念设计 指导设计师：BANK/Sebastian Bissinger（德国）
课程内容：教你如何将一份报纸做成一场艺术展,与来自BANK设计工作室的Sebastian Bissinger一起分享怎样由平凡变得出色。
课程第一天，用杭州当天发行的50份同样的报纸开始课程。课程第三天，用小组艺术展及目录册设计结束课程。课程第一、二天所有的参与者都将以“报纸”为灵感来源，以此施展自己的才能，参与者可以采用报纸中的元素设计出他自己的一件或一系列作品。取自报纸任何元素均可：人物、文章、平面设计元素、甚至是报纸本身，也可以被置入展览空间。当然，剪刀、复印机 、扫描仪、照相机、计算机、投影仪等辅助工具都可使用。第三天，回归平面设计，做一个记录本课程展览的目录册，包括展示的作品及整个创作过程。
Class 3﹣Concept Design Lecturer: BANK/Sebastian Bissinger (Germany)
Content: Turning a newspaper into an art exhibition, the ordinary becomes sublime with Sebastian Bissinger from BANK.
In the beginning of the 1st day there gonna be 50 copies of the same newspaper，the issue of that day. At the end of the 3rd day we'll have an art exhibition (a group show) and the catalogue of the show.
For the first 2 days all the participants will become artists, dealing with the newspaper as source material. Each participant will create his art piece or series of pieces. It doesn't matter what you pick from the newspaper: image、text、graphic elements or even the paper itself but you have to extend it into the gallery space. You can use scissors、photocopier、scanner、photography、computers、beamers etc.On the 3rd day you’ll be back into graphic design when doing a little catalogue for documenting the exhibition, the art works and maybe also the whole "making of".

职业设计师、设计专业教师、设计专业毕业生、设计专业在校生、研究生、设计专业爱好者等。

Professional designers、design teachers、design graduates、university students major in design、the post-gradates、and design amateurs.
活动费用:
中国大陆地区学员3500元人民币，港、澳、台及境外学员550美金/班。
注：
1、该费用仅为两周课程及相关专业讲座费用，不包含食宿、交通和其它活动费用。
2、上、下午分段授课，每位学员可自主选择上午班或下午班。针对有特殊需求的学员，活动组予于考虑可同时选择上午、下午2个班（费用为：中国大陆学员7000元人民币， 港、澳、台及境外学员1100美金）。
Fee:
The two-week class is charged at RMB3500 for each student from mainland China and USD550 for each oversea student, including students from Taiwan、Hong Kong and Macao.
PS:
1、The tuition fee includes classes of 2 weeks and the lectures arranged within these 2 weeks, but excludes board and lodging、traffic、and other extra fees.
2、The classes will be given in the morning period or the afternoon period, each student can select one groups of classes (morning class or afternoon class). However, the students who have exceptional needs are allowed to select both classes at the same time (RMB7000 for Chinese students, and USD1100 for oversea students, including students from Taiwan、Hong Kong and Macao).

3、汇款至“设计三夏”指定账户。(资讯见协议内容)。
4、收到“设计三夏”协议和汇款确认后，即完成参与手续。

2、After completing the form and Agreement, you could send an email to Miss Zou, blue@hesignchina.com，or send to Miss Zou, "Design Summer" A6,Phoenix Creative Park No.1 Creative Road, Zhuangtang Street, Hangzhou City by post mail.
3、Payment should be remitted to the bank account of "Design Summer".(please refer to the Agreement)
4、As soon as the payment and agreement are confirmed, the registration is completed.
