1. Getting to know you
1) Two Truths and a Lie: Think about two things that are true about yourself or your life and one thing that is not true.

2. Films
1) What is your favorite film of all time? Why do you think you like it?
2) Which film genre do you prefer, comedy, thriller, Sci-Fi, action, animation, or romance?
3) On a scale of one to six, one be the most favorable, six be the least favorable, please rank the above-mentioned movie genre.
4) Who would you choose to be, if you could be any character in any films that had ever been broadcasted? And Why?
5) What kind of personality do you think a leading character should possess, good looks, High IQ & EQ, special ability, personality or something else? Please specify.
3. Dreams
1) Do you often remember your dreams? What’s the most recent dream you can remember? Did you dream it in color or in black and white?
2) Do you ever have recurring dreams? What are they about? Why do you think you dream about that specific thing? Are your recurring dreams usually good dreams or nightmares?
3) If you see a certain image in a dream, do you think it has a specific meaning? For example, if you saw the following things in a dream, what do you think they would mean: a road, your closest friend, an open door, darkness, a broken tooth?
4) Have you ever dreamed something that came true in real life? Do you think it’s possible to know something in a dream before it happens in real life? Do you think you dream about that thing because you fear it or is there another other explanation?
5) What is your wildest dream? Please describe it.
6) Have you ever had a continuing dream? Dreams that was interrupted the day before, and got picked up where you left off the day after. What was it like to have a continuing dream?
4. Problem solving at Work
You are the manager of a major computer company in American. Read the following situations and discuss how you would deal with each. Be prepared to explain your decisions.
1) Jennifer is a sales representative for the company. She has worked here for 8 years and her work performance and sales record are excellent. Recently, however, her performance has been getting slack. You don’t know why. What will you do?
2) Martin’s attitude recently has not been good. He used to be one of the best employees in the company, but he has become uncooperative. Perhaps it’s because Martin has been with the company for 9 years, but he has only been promote3d once. He feels that he should get a promotion. Unfortunately, there are no opportunities for Martin right now. you want him to be happy and perform well. What will you do?
3) Mr. Jones is retiring next month. There will be an opening in the marketing department. There are two candidates, Ellen and Jim. Both are excellent employees and although both of them expect to get the job, you are going to promote Ellen. Jim will be disappointed and he may become uncooperative. How are you going to deal with this situation?
4) Wilma has been with the company for 15 years. She works hard but she is not management material. She is arrogant and over-confident. She feels that she can deal with a higher position, but you don’t agree. She would not be a good manager. How are you going to deal with her?
5. Who gets the loan?
You work in the Loan Department in the Bank of America. It’s your responsibility to decide who should get loans and who shouldn’t.
Consider: The bank wants to make money, but it also wants to give a good impression to the local community.
The borrower must repay at least 10% of the money every year. The interest is 12.5% per year.
You can give a part of the loan or 100% of the loan.
1) Max Weber, age 46
Max Weber owns a property development company. Two years ago he borrowed $200,000 to build a supermarket downtown. Unfortunately property prices have fallen in the last year so he has only repaid 50% of this money. Now he needs to borrow $300,000 to build a factory. He said that he will repay all of his money when he finished the factory in two years.
2) Wayne Newton, age 32
Mr. Newton has been employed in many jobs, but at present he is unemployed and on welfare. Because he smokes too much he needs to have an operation or he will die within six months. The operation will cost $14,000, but Mr. Newton has no money or insurance to pay for the operation.
3) Mr. and Mrs. Chen, ages 48 and 52
Then Chens have just arrived in the US from Hong Kong. In Hong Kong they were successful restaurant owners. They don’t have jobs now but they have deposited $40,000 at your bank. They owe the Bank of Hong kong $20,000. They would like to borrow $80,000 to open a new Chinese restaurant in Chicago.
4) Mr. Jackson, age 42
Mr. Jackson wants to borrow $30,000 to invest in the stock market. Two years ago he invested and lost $10,000, but last year he invested $10,000 and his stock increased by 50%. He has twenty years of experience investing in the stock market. If he is successful, the bank can make a quick profit.
5) Jon and Sue Jackson, ages 42 and 40
The Jacksons have one child. They have been saving up for a down payment on a house for the last 16 years. Recently Jon was promoted to manager of a store($18,000 a year salary), and Sue is a nurse at the local hospital($22,00o salary). They want to borrow $60,000 for a $75,000 house.
6) John Davis, age 19
Mr. Davis’ father is dead, and his mother works full-time as a waitress to support the other five children in the family. John himself worked part-time throughout hig school to help his mother. Now he is applying for a $20,000 loan to pay for his four years of undergraduate school.
