This programme is designed to meet an urgent need to train specialists in advanced electrical energy systems which is required to address the challenges introduced by global energy considerations and the integration of renewable generation in electricity transmission and distribution networks.
The core technical programme is complemented by a dedicated Management in Industry module, and a Research Study which prepares for a substantial industrially-related research project.
The core modules are delivered primarily by academic staff from the CIREGS and HIVES groups in the School of Engineering with key invited lectures from experienced engineers and managers from the electricity industry.
