尽管想到 岛酒 类福尔马林的气息有点不寒而栗,但意识形态上我已经跟老饕们无限靠近了,对泥煤已经yy 上瘾了!

(还是英文口评好,比较简洁,来来去去就是那么些词,换成中文的话不小心就是一长篇绮丽无比的软文。)
把各酒厂的特点还是简略地说下,以加深印象,所以跟前文有重复之处。
产品目录按个人喜好所列,有些并非亚洲市场专供。
瓶装商出品系列多选 Signatory。因为喜欢Signatory推出的Cask Strength Collection,而且Signatory的瓶子美,很像大号香水瓶。
Ardbeg (阿伯) : :二东家是Glenmorangie,大东家是LVMH集团。
酒厂位于 Islay 南部海湾,特点:全Islay岛最重的泥煤香气,称为野兽般的风味,据说这样的味道,是因为过去Ardbeg酒厂的麦芽熏烤窑没有抽风扇所致。
1,平均50ppm以上的重泥煤味,最高使用超过100ppm以上,目前仍是全苏格兰之冠,与某酒厂采用特殊泥煤比率计算方式,强调80ppm却完全喝不出来,是不同的。
2,只有少数酒厂能使用(需要有木桶发酵槽),也要有种敢使用的--乳酸菌发酵,用来形成Ardbeg最清楚且最迷人的香皂味,及蜡的风味。用来搭配泥煤味,让泥煤气味更强烈。
3,再馏机上的林恩臂上装了一个小型的净化器(Purifier),就是让更净化的酒质,突出Ardbeg的特色,这也是Ardbeg与Lagavulin以及Laphroaig特色差别的最主要原因。
4.目前Ardbeg酒厂所使用的木桶有98%波本桶(来自杰克丹尼尔波本酒厂),2%的西班牙雪莉桶。所陈年出来的原酒25%拿去做为调和式威士忌装瓶,75%拿来 做单一麦芽威士忌的装瓶。这75%的单一麦芽酒与格兰杰酒厂的态度一样,几乎都用50%的一次桶(first fill)与50%的二次桶(second fill)进行混调,以求最好的质量的表现。

Tasting Note
Color: Amber with pale gold highlights.
Nose: Big-bodied, dark and pungent, good, solid peat character and an underlay of rich lemon zest citrus, dry, but with a hint of sweetness, round with a delicate note of iodine.
Flavor: Full-bodied, earthily, smokily peaty and rich with touches of coffee/chocolate and tarry rope/creosote.
Finish:- Long, tangy and quite pungent, the citrus notes reprise, together with dark chocolate and a little seaweed.
Ardbeg Uigeadail(70cl, 54.20%) £47.75
Ardbeg的水源是Loch Uigeadail, 盖尔语,意思是“黑暗神秘的地方”。这就是这款酒名的由来。

A marriage of bourbon barrel and sherry butt which gives a sweet and smoky finish to this malt.
Tasting Note
Nose: Sweet yet pungently smoky: lime marmalade and peat fires on the beach, malt, cocoa powder, salted herring.
Palate: Rich, concentrated and powerful. Sooty with light tarry/liquorice touches. The lime returns. Great presence but subtle in its own way.
Finish: Long. Biscuity malt

Tasting Notes
Colour: Deepest amber
Nose: Sticking plasters, buttery, creamy, roast chicken crisps, herbal, almost a hint of pine…
Palate: Cream, spices, tingling, fresh fruit, medicinal, plasters, Clementines. Orange peels.
Finish: Salty, more medicinal, smoked meats, peat is fleeting, tarmac, chilli, salt. Salty, more medicinal, smoked meats, peat is fleeting, tarmac, chilli, salt.
Overall: Astonishing.
Bowmore(波摩): 目前东家是 Suntory,日本的三得利。
酒厂位于岛的中央湾区,Bowmore主要以美国橡木桶及西班牙木桶为主,特别采用Oloroso雪莉桶,有着最浓郁及最深的酒色,其中Bowmore darkest就是最典型的此处理手法,而得到Michael Jackson 91分的极高评价.
Bowmore是所有的Islay酒厂中,产出最多品项选择,也尝试着做了许多不同木桶陈年实验(wood finish)。
Bowmore 跟好些瓶装商合作推出的系列限量产品就不在此列出了。

Nose: Very floral, lots of peat and smoky heather. Ash, hay, coastal, zesty orange.
Palate: Lovely and rounded, perfumed smoke, coastal element develops. Dark Peat. Blossom, oily sweetness.
Finish: Very smoky, long. Sea spray, dry grass, ash and citrus.
Bowmore 15 Year Old Darkest(70cl, 43%) £46.49
Oloroso sherry casks.
Tasting Note
Nose: Dark and punchy. Sherry notes, juicy Corinth raisins. Spices. Creamy, mochaccino, sweet dates.
Palate: Rich, woody, pine oil. Syrupy. Lovely, creamy toffee and malt. Smoky.
Finish: Spicy, toffee, sherry, barley.
Bowmore 18 Year Old(70cl, 43%) £66.72
Tasting Note
Nose: Pungent, citrus. Stewing fruit, hints of damp wood and a very soft smoke.
Palate: Spirity at first, then give ways to perfume, fruit, plum jam. A good sweetness, peat smoke, grapey.
Finish: Seville marmalade, blossom, dark peat
Bowmore 25 Year Old 1985 Cask 32207 - Cask Strength Collection (Signatory)(70cl, 53.50%) £98.95
Tasting Note
Nose: Oaky and fruity, with notes of pepper, lemon sherbet, barley wine and hints of peat.
Palate: Lemon-y, tangy and fruity with notes of ginger ale, mineralic notes, seasalt and briny smoke.
Finish: Long and tangy, with notes of gripping oak and fruit.
Bruichlanddich (布鲁莱迪):
Bruichlanddich的历史比较破碎,屡屡休厂和换手。有些酒客称之为 喝不到历史的威士忌。每次的新品,味道就截然不同。
看T N 觉得其特点是泥煤味较轻,偏果香,但度数不低。
不过Bruichlanddich 系列产品的名字都比较花哨,包装也很吸引眼球。

Tasting Note
Nose: Oaked and very fruity. Lots of tinned peaches, apricots and pear. Hints of salt air and apple peel with vanilla sweetness.
Palate: Youthful and oaky with hints of vanilla sweetness, peppery spices and cloves. A touch of nutmeg, some more apple peel and toffee.
Finish: Long, spiced and fruity with plenty of canned fruits…

Tasting Note
Nose: Woody and grassy, lovely berry fruits, orchard fruits, lovely wine character, really well-orchestrated.
Palate: Tropical fruits in true ‘Laddie style with some vanilla, citrus and malt.
Finish: Long, juicy and chewy, citrus arrives
Bunnahabhain(布纳哈本):
酒厂位置在河口处,Bunnahabhain盖尔语的意思是 河的嘴巴。老船长标签。
因为取微熏过的麦芽,取水是未经泥煤地的泉水,所以口感比较light,柔顺,是Islay 岛peat味最轻的whisky. 但也有例外。

Tasting Note
Nose: Full, doughy. Cereals, warm pastries, lightly salted butter. Some bruised fruit emerges with a hint of smoke. Iodine. Malt, apple peel.
Palate: Quite dry, bruised apple, pear sweetness. A definite burnt character emerges: smoked ham, spent matches.
Finish: Short, but pleasant. Burnt pastry, smoke.

Nose: Almond oil, sherried peels and smoked chilli. A little parprika, tar, old ropes, butter and menthol.
Palate: Caramel, toffee apples, burnt oak, smoked meats, peat, tar, black treacle and sherry.
Finish: Long and smoky, dark fruits and potpourri.
Bunnahabhain 出了款 Black Bottle:(黑樽调和式威士忌)称为老船长的黑瓶子:用了Islay 岛七家的原酒混合而成,peating level 高达38ppm ,因而有「艾雷之心」的美称。这个放在 Scotch Blended Malt Whisky 纯麦/调和威士忌 专题中介绍。
Caol Ila: 酒厂位于Islay 东北 部的海边,拥有Islay最大的蒸馏厂.
Caol Ila和Lagavulin的东家都是全球第一大烈酒集团Diageo帝亚吉欧
目前Caol Ila有两种不同的原酒生产,一种是无泥煤味的原酒,一种是有泥煤味的原酒。
它的泥煤味的原酒,负担了许多威士忌品牌泥煤味调和的来源。目前酒厂的生产96%拿来作为调和威士忌的原酒,只有 4%是做为单一麦芽威士忌的装瓶。
许多的重泥煤威士忌爱好者多半是嫌弃它泥煤味不够浓郁。不喜欢泥煤味的人,嫌 弃它消毒水的气味。
Coal Ila的无泥煤味的威士忌,它的Coal Ila 8yo unpeated有非常迷人的金雀花(Gorse)的香气,像是热带的椰子糖味道是一样的。金雀花的味道怎么弄出来的??? 蒸馏器的配置。这就是答案。
初馏机(Wash Still)与再馏机(Spirit Still)的配置关系,决定他甚么味道该留,甚么味道不留。喝过Coal Ila单一麦芽威士忌的人都知道,Coal Ila是属于优雅细致的酒体,泥煤味清楚而不喧宾夺主,它的蒸馏机悬臂决定他 味道萃取的重点。
初馏机的悬臂往下斜,目的要将蒸气凝结的酒汁,快速的下来,收集进冷凝器,这样的配置可以保有更多麦芽发酵后的酯和醇,以及收住更多的泥煤味。而再馏机进 行第二次蒸馏时,保持水平臂,目的要让酒汁有更多的铜对话,让酒体更优雅更细致。于是在初馏所保留下来的原始作物风味,可以在再馏后的细致酒体中,充分展 现出来。。

Nose: Fresh, herbal. Rubbed peppermint leaves, stemmy, damp grass, smoky. Oily, cigar leaves, smoked ham, hickory.
Palate: Good body, oily, tar, elegant smoke. Hints of boiled sweets.
Finish: Long, peppery, spicy warmth, smoke.
Caol Ila 12 Year Old Unpeated (2011 Release)(70cl, 64%) £51.95
惊人的64度,称为Caol Ila目前最好的无泥煤威士忌。看描述应该是口感强烈,复杂,奶油果香浓烈

Tasting Note
Nose: An old-fashioned tuck shop greats the nostrils; sherbet, Refreshers sweets and various boiled items in jars (the kind that shatter your teeth instantly). There’s also an assortment of “Cinema Snacks” – mainly chocolate-coated raisins and toffee popcorn. Hints too of walnut, ginger and mace.
Palate: Very rich (and at 64%abv that means VERY rich), offering up stem ginger in syrup, parma violets, lemon meringue pie, chili and melted rum & raisin ice cream.
Finish: Long and sublimely sweet with exotic spices and pear juice.
Overall: A recurring theme of almost soapy parma violets seems to be popping up!
Caol Ila 1996 - Cask Strength (Gordon and MacPhail)(70cl, 59%) £60.07

Tasting Note
The nose is quite green and rich with a well-balanced sweetness, counteracted by the elegant Caol-smoke. Notes of dried kelp and tar with a touch of apple peel and underripe fruit. Some notes of barley develop. The palate is rich and quite lively with peppery oak and charred toasted spice. Notes of seaweed and a defined coastal quality with a gentle smoke and chewy, dark peat. The finish is long and smoky with rock salt and tar and cut herbs
Caol Ila 18 Year Old(70cl, 43%) £68.59
malty and thick with notes of Caol Ila smoke and phenols, without extreme levels of peat.
Tasting Note
Nose: Aromatic, darkness. Herbal, vegetal. Grassy, creamy malt.
Palate: Big, refined sweetness, leafy. Well integrated oak, smoke, oily, peat. Barley.
Finish: Long, herbal notes, gentle smoke, soft peat. Oily wood.
Lagavulin:酒厂位于 Islay 东南海岸,Lagavulin意思就是指酒厂的位置:" 在凹陷处的磨坊 "。
和Caol Ila同属全球第一大烈酒集团Diageo帝亚吉欧旗下。
不管哪位威士忌大师评鉴或评分,它几乎都可以摘到Islay七家酒厂的桂冠。
(Lagavulin 16YO, Jim Murray 和Michael Jackson 都给了几乎最高分的95分)
原酒产量95%以单一麦芽威士忌的形式来装瓶,仅 5%给白马牌(White Horse)调和式威士忌使用,但依然供不应求。
Lagavulin蒸馏厂所用的麦芽和Caol Ila一模一样,可是所做出来的威士忌,却有个性上非常大的差别。
有三个特殊的关键是酒厂引以为酒厂风格的来源:
1,发酵的过程:在Lagavulin酒厂之中,拿来做发酵的Washback有十个,在目前大部分酒厂改成不锈钢桶的发酵,这里却坚持用苏格兰的落叶松 (Larch),来打造出发酵的木桶,每一桶的发酵时间在周间以及周末分别为80个小时与120个小时,在第55个小时之时会另外放入液状的酵母,这个特 别的动作,会让初期的Beer发酵酒汁,产生出特殊的风味。
2,蒸馏的技术:一般来说,二次蒸馏机分为初馏机以及再馏机,做两段式蒸馏。初馏机的形状大小通常会大于再馏机,这是常识,也是一般的法则。 Lagavulin非常特别的是,它的再馏机(Spirit Still)明显的大于初馏机(Wash Still),巨型梨状的蒸馏器,以及向下斜度非常大的悬臂,摆明了要萃取强壮而浓郁的原酒,初馏5个小时,再馏却长达10个半小时,这10个半小时中, 前50分钟当酒头去掉,中间取了4个半小时,之后的5个小时多就当作酒尾去掉。从萃取的部位上来看,很明显酒厂强劲的体魄,就从此确立下来。(取酒心)
3,木桶的使用:Lagavulin酒厂中使用了99.5%的波本桶,他们认为波本桶才能做出酒厂想要的风味,雪莉桶最多拿来画龙点睛,绝大多数 Lagavulin酒厂内出产的单一麦芽品项,是纯粹波本桶的气味。有趣的是,酒厂喜欢用波本桶,但是不要波本酒的味道。所以Lagavulin所有的单一麦芽威士忌,只用2nd filled桶(第2次酒装桶),而不用1st filled桶(第一次装桶),第一次装桶的酒约3~10年不等,这样的酒可能包含了太多原来里面所装波本酒的风味,他们不要,只用第二次再装桶的原酒, 当作酒厂风格来装瓶。

Tasting Note
Nose: More like Lapsang Souchong tea than Lapsang Souchong! One of the smokiest noses from Islay. It's big, very, very concentraded, and redolent of iondine, sweet spices, good, mature sherry and creamy vanilla. Stunning.
Palate: Very thick and rich. A massive mouthful of malt and sherry with good fruity sweetness, but also a woonderful sweetness. Big, powerful peat and oak.
Finish: Long, spicy finish, figs, dates, peat smoke, vanilla
Lagavulin 12 Year Old (2009 Release)(70cl, 57.90%) £59.35
cask-strength,被称为最好的cask-strength whiskies之一
Laphroaig (拉弗格): 酒厂位于Islay岛最南端的海湾处。东家是美国公司:Beam Global Spirits & Wine 。
Laphroaig是唯一一家所有的威士忌都是100%用美国像木桶直接陈年的蒸馏厂。
他们坚持的认为,葡萄和榖类,是完全不一样的味道,是不可能混在一起的,虽然雪莉桶可以带来滑顺的口感,但是也会扼杀的大麦的香气。
Laphroaig 也是少数坚持自己发芽(Malting)的蒸馏厂,因为他们认为唯有这样,他们才能控制烟熏的程度,制造出想要的麦的气味。
Laphroaig洋葱状小而且颈部特别细的蒸馏器能留住最多的酚,所做出来的特殊烟熏风味让隔壁的Lagavulin也订做了一模一样的蒸馏器,当然并没有出现相同的结果。
他的Quarter Cask 得到2006年Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 95分的评价。
Cask Strength得到2005年Whisky Magazine –Best of the Best 2005 Awards。
除了他的15年评价没那么高以外,其它的几乎都是在90分以上的成绩。

aged for five years before being finished in a quarter cask for seven months, the size of the cask is quite small, thus does not require such a long maturation.
Tasting Note

Nose: Oily and buttery nose, with toffee, nuttiness, hickory, bicarbonate of soda, rum and raisin ice cream and zest.
Palate: Big rush of sweetness, in fact it’s an explosion of sweetness, with fiery chilli heat, TCP, sweet cereals and a touch of cola syrup.
Finish: Medium length, but becomes fruity, with custard and cigar smoke.
Laphroaig Triple Wood(70cl, 48%) £37.95
这款本是为免税市场推出的。有着惊人的peat smoke and sweetness。
matured in bourbon barrels, before transfer into quarter casks, and a third maturation in Oloroso sherry European oak butts.
Tasting Note
Nose: Molasses and oily toffee. Dates, walnuts, notes from the Maker’s Mark barrels (vanilla, toastiness, sweetness etc). We got oodles of butter, zest, cool wood smoke, almond, and passion fruit.
Palate: Dry and medicinal, with exotic spices, perhaps even some turmeric. The palate is surprisingly savoury at first, with what John described as “dry dampness” (taste and it’ll make sense!) - think musty wood sheds and hints of moist autumnal forest floor. The sherry notes are there too, but rather than being the big Christmas pudding flavour one often expects from Oloroso-aged whisky, we are instead treated to a much more restrained iced fruitcake, graced with hints of Laphroaig’s classic smoke.
Finish: Oaked. The mustiness carries into the finish, which lasts for a good while, with oily spices and dried fruit
Laphroaig 10 Year Old Cask Strength - Batch 003 Jan 11(70cl, 55.30%) £53.67
Tasting Note
Nose: Hints of cold wood ash and buttered granary toast with not quite enough honey. A very evocative scent, which gives way to peaches and cream and Lapsang Souchong and allspice.
Palate: Very robust, and intensely “muscular”, this is a real brute, with all kinds of smokiness. It’s almost like crunching down on a lump of coal (but one coated in beautifully sweet toffee). Hints of motor oil and ground ginger appear. After a time there’s just a hint of cordite in the crisp air of a winter morning…
Finish: Good length, drawn out by the embers on a fire, vanilla, charred bourbon barrels and toffee apples by a fireworks display.
Overall: A powerful whisky, and one which would be well suited in a hipflask for a walk on a wintry morning
Laphroaig 18 Year Old(70cl, 48%) £59.76
Tasting Note
Nose: Very big. This is a beast of a whisky, with a breakfast character (granary toast, salty butter, a touch of orange juice and coffee). After a while of nosing it you’ll start to get banana loaf, developing alongside the applewood smoke, perhaps even cocoa too.
Palate: Very rounded and thick. Golden Syrup? Salt spray, fiery wood spices, dark and brooding peat, star anise, dark chocolate and stewed prunes.
Finish: Very long, with liquorice, Seville orange marmalade, salty butter and kippers.

酒厂位置在河口处,Bunnahabhain盖尔语的意思是 河的嘴巴。老船长标签。
因为取微熏过的麦芽,取水是未经泥煤地的泉水,所以口感比较light,柔顺,是Islay 岛peat味最轻的whisky. 但也有例外。

许多的重泥煤威士忌爱好者多半是嫌弃它泥煤味不够浓郁。不喜欢泥煤味的人,嫌 弃它消毒水的气味。
Coal Ila的无泥煤味的威士忌,它的Coal Ila 8yo unpeated有非常迷人的金雀花(Gorse)的香气,像是热带的椰子糖味道是一样的。金雀花的味道怎么弄出来的??? 蒸馏器的配置。这就是答案。
初馏机(Wash Still)与再馏机(Spirit Still)的配置关系,决定他甚么味道该留,甚么味道不留。喝过Coal Ila单一麦芽威士忌的人都知道,Coal Ila是属于优雅细致的酒体,泥煤味清楚而不喧宾夺主,它的蒸馏机悬臂决定他 味道萃取的重点。
初馏机的悬臂往下斜,目的要将蒸气凝结的酒汁,快速的下来,收集进冷凝器,这样的配置可以保有更多麦芽发酵后的酯和醇,以及收住更多的泥煤味。而再馏机进 行第二次蒸馏时,保持水平臂,目的要让酒汁有更多的铜对话,让酒体更优雅更细致。于是在初馏所保留下来的原始作物风味,可以在再馏后的细致酒体中,充分展 现出来。。

Nose: An old-fashioned tuck shop greats the nostrils; sherbet, Refreshers sweets and various boiled items in jars (the kind that shatter your teeth instantly). There’s also an assortment of “Cinema Snacks” – mainly chocolate-coated raisins and toffee popcorn. Hints too of walnut, ginger and mace.
Palate: Very rich (and at 64%abv that means VERY rich), offering up stem ginger in syrup, parma violets, lemon meringue pie, chili and melted rum & raisin ice cream.
Finish: Long and sublimely sweet with exotic spices and pear juice.
Overall: A recurring theme of almost soapy parma violets seems to be popping up!

和Caol Ila同属全球第一大烈酒集团Diageo帝亚吉欧旗下。
不管哪位威士忌大师评鉴或评分,它几乎都可以摘到Islay七家酒厂的桂冠。
(Lagavulin 16YO, Jim Murray 和Michael Jackson 都给了几乎最高分的95分)
原酒产量95%以单一麦芽威士忌的形式来装瓶,仅 5%给白马牌(White Horse)调和式威士忌使用,但依然供不应求。
Lagavulin蒸馏厂所用的麦芽和Caol Ila一模一样,可是所做出来的威士忌,却有个性上非常大的差别。
有三个特殊的关键是酒厂引以为酒厂风格的来源:
1,发酵的过程:在Lagavulin酒厂之中,拿来做发酵的Washback有十个,在目前大部分酒厂改成不锈钢桶的发酵,这里却坚持用苏格兰的落叶松 (Larch),来打造出发酵的木桶,每一桶的发酵时间在周间以及周末分别为80个小时与120个小时,在第55个小时之时会另外放入液状的酵母,这个特 别的动作,会让初期的Beer发酵酒汁,产生出特殊的风味。
2,蒸馏的技术:一般来说,二次蒸馏机分为初馏机以及再馏机,做两段式蒸馏。初馏机的形状大小通常会大于再馏机,这是常识,也是一般的法则。 Lagavulin非常特别的是,它的再馏机(Spirit Still)明显的大于初馏机(Wash Still),巨型梨状的蒸馏器,以及向下斜度非常大的悬臂,摆明了要萃取强壮而浓郁的原酒,初馏5个小时,再馏却长达10个半小时,这10个半小时中, 前50分钟当酒头去掉,中间取了4个半小时,之后的5个小时多就当作酒尾去掉。从萃取的部位上来看,很明显酒厂强劲的体魄,就从此确立下来。(取酒心)
3,木桶的使用:Lagavulin酒厂中使用了99.5%的波本桶,他们认为波本桶才能做出酒厂想要的风味,雪莉桶最多拿来画龙点睛,绝大多数 Lagavulin酒厂内出产的单一麦芽品项,是纯粹波本桶的气味。有趣的是,酒厂喜欢用波本桶,但是不要波本酒的味道。所以Lagavulin所有的单一麦芽威士忌,只用2nd filled桶(第2次酒装桶),而不用1st filled桶(第一次装桶),第一次装桶的酒约3~10年不等,这样的酒可能包含了太多原来里面所装波本酒的风味,他们不要,只用第二次再装桶的原酒, 当作酒厂风格来装瓶。

Tasting Note
Nose: More like Lapsang Souchong tea than Lapsang Souchong! One of the smokiest noses from Islay. It's big, very, very concentraded, and redolent of iondine, sweet spices, good, mature sherry and creamy vanilla. Stunning.
Palate: Very thick and rich. A massive mouthful of malt and sherry with good fruity sweetness, but also a woonderful sweetness. Big, powerful peat and oak.
Finish: Long, spicy finish, figs, dates, peat smoke, vanilla

Laphroaig (拉弗格): 酒厂位于Islay岛最南端的海湾处。东家是美国公司:Beam Global Spirits & Wine 。
Laphroaig是唯一一家所有的威士忌都是100%用美国像木桶直接陈年的蒸馏厂。
他们坚持的认为,葡萄和榖类,是完全不一样的味道,是不可能混在一起的,虽然雪莉桶可以带来滑顺的口感,但是也会扼杀的大麦的香气。
Laphroaig 也是少数坚持自己发芽(Malting)的蒸馏厂,因为他们认为唯有这样,他们才能控制烟熏的程度,制造出想要的麦的气味。
Laphroaig洋葱状小而且颈部特别细的蒸馏器能留住最多的酚,所做出来的特殊烟熏风味让隔壁的Lagavulin也订做了一模一样的蒸馏器,当然并没有出现相同的结果。
他的Quarter Cask 得到2006年Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 95分的评价。
Cask Strength得到2005年Whisky Magazine –Best of the Best 2005 Awards。
除了他的15年评价没那么高以外,其它的几乎都是在90分以上的成绩。

Nose: Oily and buttery nose, with toffee, nuttiness, hickory, bicarbonate of soda, rum and raisin ice cream and zest.
Palate: Big rush of sweetness, in fact it’s an explosion of sweetness, with fiery chilli heat, TCP, sweet cereals and a touch of cola syrup.
Finish: Medium length, but becomes fruity, with custard and cigar smoke.

Tasting Note
Nose: Molasses and oily toffee. Dates, walnuts, notes from the Maker’s Mark barrels (vanilla, toastiness, sweetness etc). We got oodles of butter, zest, cool wood smoke, almond, and passion fruit.
Palate: Dry and medicinal, with exotic spices, perhaps even some turmeric. The palate is surprisingly savoury at first, with what John described as “dry dampness” (taste and it’ll make sense!) - think musty wood sheds and hints of moist autumnal forest floor. The sherry notes are there too, but rather than being the big Christmas pudding flavour one often expects from Oloroso-aged whisky, we are instead treated to a much more restrained iced fruitcake, graced with hints of Laphroaig’s classic smoke.
Finish: Oaked. The mustiness carries into the finish, which lasts for a good while, with oily spices and dried fruit

Tasting Note
Nose: Hints of cold wood ash and buttered granary toast with not quite enough honey. A very evocative scent, which gives way to peaches and cream and Lapsang Souchong and allspice.
Palate: Very robust, and intensely “muscular”, this is a real brute, with all kinds of smokiness. It’s almost like crunching down on a lump of coal (but one coated in beautifully sweet toffee). Hints of motor oil and ground ginger appear. After a time there’s just a hint of cordite in the crisp air of a winter morning…
Finish: Good length, drawn out by the embers on a fire, vanilla, charred bourbon barrels and toffee apples by a fireworks display.
Overall: A powerful whisky, and one which would be well suited in a hipflask for a walk on a wintry morning

Tasting Note
Nose: Very big. This is a beast of a whisky, with a breakfast character (granary toast, salty butter, a touch of orange juice and coffee). After a while of nosing it you’ll start to get banana loaf, developing alongside the applewood smoke, perhaps even cocoa too.
Palate: Very rounded and thick. Golden Syrup? Salt spray, fiery wood spices, dark and brooding peat, star anise, dark chocolate and stewed prunes.
Finish: Very long, with liquorice, Seville orange marmalade, salty butter and kippers.
