The downtown area of Decasia is rapidly decaying
In the world there is a tiny place called Decasia by its local residents. Every person has his own peculiar story and so did this small place. During just one year a lot of things occurred around and in the economically underdeveloped town, especially at the downtown area of Decasia. At the beginning of that period Rose’s Giant Boutique moved to the Town Mall shopping center and then Heartland Department Store entered the Town Mall. Maybe in the small town’s history they seemed big news but in fact these changes didn’t bring about much luck for her and instead a chain of unfortunate events followed one after another. Some citizens found that many potholes on the Main Street later in next month while mayor didn’t think that could not foretell something bad. But the word spread so fast that most of people, old and young here began to talk about the strange story at the table or in the streets. What was worse happened next in merely a few days and the Boolie’s Restaurant had been destroyed totally in a big and fierce fire. So far the policemen haven’t found out the reason and this case is still under investigation now. After that people worried about the development of the downtown because no businessman wanted to risk opening offices in a unsecured and unstable area. The news that some guy painted “The Killers” on some buildings in the night made every one living here nervous and uneasy. Old women started to gossip about the unhappy things together constantly when they met each other and the atmosphere you felt here was a little desperate because when you walked on the road you would find many people wear a kind of beastly expression on their faces. That is because most had been influenced by this series of awkward things. Eventually there came a piece of bad news that the elegant Chandler Theater closed down, which shocked many people a lot, especially the drama enthusiasts here. Next came the collapse of the famous Chez Pierre restaurant for lacking of business according to the insiders. The street was changed much and in bad shape, furthermore some illegal business or sleazy places began to thrive here. An “adult” bookstore moved in followed by another “adult” movie theater in just few months. This had a huge impact on the downtown and you know a lot of youngsters gradually became immersed in the nightlife and enjoying passion in such places like this, which made the society security condition worse and worse. Mayor seemed very angry about the trends but he couldn’t control and handle the chaos well because of some unknown reasons. Some disasters appeared to be unavoidable here. More potholes and “The Killers” showed and even windows of the old Heartland Department Store had been all shattered by stones. No one could tell who did it while people could guess what it meant. Many well-run stores in the past had to leave here because they didn’t have any strength edge in the competition with the illegal ones.
