7月底，《美国周刊》杂志爆出《暮光之城》女星克里斯汀·斯图尔特背着男友罗伯特·帕丁森与《白雪公主与猎人》导演鲁伯特·桑德斯拥抱亲吻的偷情照片，不过，“劈腿门”虽真，但随后《明星》杂志称斯图尔特已经怀孕而不知道孩子的爸爸是谁的消息却未必属实。
《明星》杂志称消息是斯图尔特的“朋友”透露给他们的，但斯图尔特身边一不愿意透露姓名的好友却否认斯图尔特怀孕的报道，八卦网站“传闻警察”也代其辟谣说，斯图尔特与桑德斯并未发生任何关系，因此不存在怀上他孩子的可能。
2012年11月，《暮光之城》最后一部将上映，两人很难避免会再度同台。电影发行方可能已经下了禁令，要求其他演员不能再谈到涉及帕丁森和斯图尔特情变的任何话题，又强迫帕丁森和斯图尔特在公众面前继续保持恩爱表象，并向他们施加压力，要他们尽快解决之间的情感问题。据悉，其他演员集体力撑帕丁森，甚至连斯图尔特的父母都觉得女儿让他们失望。
虽最近风波不断，但斯图尔特的工作依旧。她已经确定加盟《疯狂的心》导演斯考特·库伯的新片，在片中出演美国南方家族的一位少女。据悉，该片名为《躺在黑暗中》，改编自1951年出版的一本同名小说，讲述在1950年代，一个美丽的女孩Peyton遭到了母亲冷漠的嫉恨和酒鬼父亲侵犯的故事。原本男主角锁定曾在《国王的演讲》中有出色表演的科林·费斯，但不知何故计划落空，目前男主角正在另寻他人。
而且斯图尔特十分想挽回她和帕丁森的关系，因为她称这对她意味着一切。美国媒体称她近日去找奥斯卡影后朱迪·福斯特求助。斯图尔特还是童星的时候曾与福斯特合演过电影《战栗空间》，在片中她饰演福斯特的女儿。福斯特对“女儿”的演技赞誉有加。斯图尔特此次找“妈妈”帮忙，咨询如何应对目前的尴尬局面。福斯特虽然对克里斯汀也感到有些失望，但她认为斯图尔特还年轻，人嘛，漫漫人生路，总会犯错，能改就好！
