TED Simon Sinek: How Great Leaders Inspire Action

Martin Luther King
“I have a dream. I believe... I believe...”
He told us what he believed not what we can do to change the US. We followed him not because we have to, it is because we are inspired what they believe. We follow them for ourselves.
Apple
They think from the inside! That is Why→How→What
Why: everything we do, we believe, in challenging the stauts of quo, in thinking differently.
How: the way we challenge the stauts of quo is by making our products beautifully designed, simple to use, and the users use friendly.
What: which is happen to make computers. Wanna buy one?
People don't buy what you do, people buy why you do it.
This explained why people are comfortable buying a computer from Apple, and also comfortable buying an MP3, an iPod from apple. But Apple is just a computer company. It's competitive company's are equally qualified to make all those products. In fact, they tried.Dell came out an MP3 player in PDA, but no one buy it. People till now cannot imagine why would we buy an MP3 player from a computer company? But actually, we do it everyday.
The goal is not to do business with anybody who need what you have, the goal is to do business with people who believe what you believe.
Furthermore, If you hire people just because they can do the job, they work for your money; but if you hire people who believe what you believe e.g. Apple Inc., they work for you with blood, sweat and tears.
It's biology. The part of our brain controlling our behaviors is the counterpart of the WHY in the goal circle. When we communicate from inside out, we are talking directly to the part of the brain that control people's behaviors, and we allow people to rationalize it with a tangible thing we say and do. This is where gut decisions come from.
Law of diffusions of innovation
If you want to mass the market's acceptance of your idea, you cannot have it until you achieve the tipping point between 15 and 18, and then the system tips.
Talk people what you believe and attract people who believe what you believe e.g. People who queue to buy the new product of Apple(earlier adaptor) even if the technology is substandardized. They are comfortable making their guts decisions , the intuitive decisions driven by what they believe, just like the innovator. They want to be first.
