chapter 1. MY RETURN TO RELIGION

ALTHOUGH in a sense autobiographical, this book is really a condensation of the biographies of people who have come under my observation.It is the story of many individuals who, in these chaotic times, are groping for the verities of life ,for some sure foundation upon which they might rear the structure of their happiness.My own return to religion is unimportant;But my interpretation of their struggles,despairs.and success may be of major importance,since it is based on discoveries of scientific psychology, many of which have never before been presented to the public in this form.
My return to religion was not due to the depression,although that trying period served to project certain facets into holder relief.It was not due to old age and approaching senilty which often play strange tricks with the mind; as I write.I have just turned forty-five and might therefore be considered in the prime of life.It was not due to ill-health and physical suffering which so frequently turn the attention hopefully to the comforts of a more perfece life hereafer;
