Delightful People Of the Day (DPOD)

Amongst the mostly negative or dull influx of online information and exchanges, I often find myself tempted to lessink further and further into more "antiquarian interests" ("故纸堆"). I have decided to figure out ways to remind myself that contemporary culture has its charms and rewards. One small move is to create a periodic entry in my own journal called "Delightful People Of the Day" (DPOD), culling folks that stand out with their intelligence, humane warmth, sense of humor, or admirably forceful characters. I learn -- with gratitude and relief -- of their delightful existence, from books, news, podcasts, TV, etc. Just chance encounters that remind sourpusses like myself that they are out there, in the same slice of time-space continuum as we are.
Past DPODs, for example: BBC Friday Comedy's Sandy Torqsvig and Jeremy Hardy. Ricky Jay. TV persona Amy Schumer. Comedian Louise CK. Senator Flake from AZ. Surely an eclectic blend, eh?
O.K.: today's DPOD - husband-and-wife song writers for "Frozen" and "Book of Mormon", Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. Warm, funny, unselfconscious yet intelligently self-aware. A great couple.
