The 33rd ZS English Corner (中山英语角,50+!) - Momo's diary
中山英语角·第三十三期风采照
30 Oct,2014
Tonight, Royce and Andy asked me if I keep writing diaries after joining the English Corner. Yes, I do. However, I found it hard to catch the details tonight as the happiness and excitement meeting old friends and new comers was all over my mind.
It's not easy to keep a diary in English. I won't deny I made mistakes in writing or grammars etc, at least I will try my upmost to make it less. I really appreciate some friends for their kind attention to my diaries.
In summary, it was a wonderful Thursday night. Follow me:
❤7:00-8:00 free talk❤
❤7:00-8:10 group presentation❤
1. Where has time gone?
Where has your time gone? Have you ever thought of this question? Some times I find myself moony and accomplish nothing in a whole day. Time has gone when we drink, we eat, we sleep, we laugh, we sorrow, we sleep...In a word, time has gone just in the blink of an eye. I think the point of this question is where your time should go. We should spend our time on worthy things, don't waste it.
As a famous saying in the book How Was the Steel Tempered(钢铁是怎样炼成的): When we look back on our past, we feel no torturing regrets for wasted years, nor feel ashamed of not accomplishing anything(当我们回首往事,不因虚度年华而悔恨,不因碌碌无为而羞耻).
2. Can money buy happiness?
Yes, it can. One representative expressed her idea which surprised us. 'Cause we were happy joining the English Corner only spending RMB25! So smart!
Of course, it depends on your perspective on things. Happiness is a feeling from the bottom of your heart. Just don't make happiness with your money. You can be or should be happy with or without money.
3. What do you think of Alien or UFO?
Aha, it's a funy topic. There were so many people around the world claimed that they witnessed Alien or UFO. But it turned out to be only some automatic control aviettes in some cases. This is an inconclusive topic. I think we can just enjoy the movies or cartons or books that were made up. Real or unreal? Never mind.
❤8:10-8:40 new comers' self-introduction❤
It was our new friends' coming that made the night flesh and hot! My groupmates were Hicks, Leilei and Magic, nice students; Rachel; Jim... The music in the pub was a little noisy and so I couldn't catch most of their names. Sorry for that. We had many beauties here, good for gentlemen. Haha.
Here came the focus: a new comer introduced that he is a boy and our audience went along with him by asking "What makes you a boy?" Couldn't help laughing.
❤8:40-8:50 game❤
We were not going to guess the words. Instead, we guessed the places. It was great fun! Andy preapared the relevant beautiful photos of cities or contries. All ECers acted so actively.
❤8:50-9:20 prepared speech❤
Our speaker were Sukie and Vivian. I was in a brown study so I forgot their topics...T T... Sorry, never happen again. I just remembered Canten talking something about diet and lose weight.
However, prepared speech is a part with most importance. It's not about showing how good your English is, but to show your stage presence when speaking English. So we volunteers put forward an idea that this part will start early before the game time, so as to attract more attention from our audience. Then our speakers will be more confident with our respect and willing to do it next time.
❤The end❤
Regarding our outdoor activity next Sunday, more than 35 people already join in. If you are still in watching mode, come on, don't hesitate!
