Area Man Divorces His Real Life
FOR WORTH, TX— Alex Herschlag, a 36-year-old graphic designer and marathon runner, is reported to head to Tarrant County Circuit Court to file for divorce from his real life of the same age.
According to divorce records obtained by the reporters, Mr.Herschlag cited “power imbalance” and “financial dispute” as top reasons for the divorce, aside from “irreconcilable differences”. Although plausible evidence is still lacking, Mr. Herschlag suspects “probable infidelity” that dates back to his childhood, based on the observation that his life has been “phenomenally more intimate and friendly” since then with a few of his friends than him.
In a telephone interview, Mr. Herschlag mentioned he has tried numerous times to repair the relationship with his real life, and has been toying with the idea of legal separation instead of divorce. “I had some affairs with other lives in movies, books, trips, music, drugs and alcohol…but with good intentions, you know, just to take a break. But it didn't work.... it’s been so bad, to the point of toxic, that I always get back to the same life however much I want to run away from it,” he said, “so I realized the only way out is to bid adieu to it. It rarely gives me what I want and doesn’t listen to me when I talk. I don’t think we understand each other in the first place. We no longer want to be associated with one another, well, that’s kind of mutual. ”
Mr. Herschlag wants his real life to cover his attorney fees, and according to the filing his real life “is currently not employed or pregnant”. Further details with regards to the division of property and assets remain unknown.
