温哥华时间三月十九日19:00到22:00，阿呆网络将在Burnanby的Spacekraft组织一次线下公益讲座。本次讲座的主题为“加拿大公益服务以及数据运用”。本次讲座将邀请NGO，大数据分析以及新媒体领域的专家围绕上述主题进行探讨，以便让大家更好得了解大数据技术将如何改变中加两国的志愿服务的未来趋势。本次讲座将进行全球直播。为了照顾到中国和北美的全部小伙伴，本次讲座将以中英双语的形式进行。
志愿服务精神一直都是加拿大文化价值观的重要组成部分。根据加拿大统计局的数据，有超过1千万加拿大人在2013年无偿进行了超过20亿小时的社区服务。与此同时，新媒体技术已经覆盖到我们生活中的点点滴滴。随着近几年大数据领域的迅猛发展，信息技术对志愿服务的组织以及开展形式的影响也日益显著。那么，在大数据背景下，社工机构未来将如何发展？此次讲座将就上述问题从加拿大志愿服务文化以及大数据技术发展趋势等方面展开讨论。
Big Data Analytics & the Future of Volunteerism: How New Media Technologies Would Revolutionize Civic Engagement in Canada
Volunteerism is at the heart of Canadian Culture and according to Statistics Canada's survey in 2013, 12.7 million Canadians contribute close to 2 billion hours in voluntary service and other forms of community engagement. In the meantime, our everyday life has been completely transformed by new media technologies and it has been widely acknowledged that big data analytics would bring the next wave of social innovations.
How can non-profit organizations benefit from big data analytics? In this information session we would like to invite your join the conversation on "big data for social change". The event's line up of presenters includes experts in the tech and non-profit sectors, delivering dive discussions on topics ranging from: the importance of volunteerism in Canadian culture, how to engage with community service in Metro Vancouver, the social innovations brought by big data initiatives, etc.
