西语语法6:tú和usted的用法
Spanish has two different words for you: tú and usted.
Usted is generally used to address persons with whom the speaker has a formal relationship. Use usted with people whom you call by their title and last name or with people you don’t know very well. Students generally address their teachers with usted. Some parts of the Spanish-speaking world, children use usted with their parents in order to show respect.
Tú implies a familiar relationship. Use tú when you would address a person by his or her first name, with close friends or relatives, and with children and pets. Students usually address each other as tú. If you are unsure about whether to use tú or usted, it is better to use usted. The native speaker can always suggest that you call him or her tú if that form is more appropriate.
