Soft Power Can Not Save The World
At the World Debate Champion in Turkey, Chinese Team from Beijing Foreign Studies University brought Chinese faces back to the international arena.
Debate has become a popular student activity among Chinese students during the recent years. The reasons might trace back to the nation wide learning wave of English. More and more people realized the importance of international communication and they believe the command of communication skills might lead them to the glorious soft power.
An important figure of soft power goes to the 44th American President-Braco Obama. As the first African American President of the world’s biggest developed country, Mr. President had won his grown by his enthusiastic public speeches and his television debates. He is the one who knows the greatest communication skills and he is the one who commands them perfectly. His words made the world believe that things are going to change and looking forward to that.
Yet, he is the first American President that after one year of his administration, more that half of his people are saying no to. His beloved fellow Americans are not supporting him as much as they do after 300 days and his words seem to lose their magic.
A Nobel Peace Prize do not always to world peace, just at a great soft power may not lead to the savior of the world.
