Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever; I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood,
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
W.H.奥登(Wystan Hugh Auden, 1907-1973) 的诗作"Funeral Blues" 《葬礼蓝调》 初次发表于1936年，后来在1994年拍摄的电影"Four Weddings and a Funeral"《四个婚礼与一个葬礼》中被Matthew (John Hannah)在为他的同性恋伴侣 Gareth (Simon Callow) 所致的悼词中所引用，从而广为人所知。（截图请看相册）
