In spite of的用法

一．“in spite of +宾语”作让步状语，表示“不顾”，“尽管”，“虽然”之意
We shall go in spite of the rain.尽管下雨，我们还是会去
For all本身也有“不顾”，“尽管”的意思：
For all this，she helped me. 尽管如此，她还是帮了我
二．“in spite of the fact that xxx”(从句)做”不顾XXX事实”讲
In spite of the fact that at first you did not succeed. You must try again.
尽管你第一次未成功，但你必须再次尝试。
In spite of, notwithstanding和despite当介词，可以互相替换。 In spite of 语气较强，notwithstanding语气较弱，而despite比较正式。同时regardless和disregarding可以替换：
Some people act regardless（=despite，in spite of）what will happen afterward。有些人做事不考虑会有什么后果产生。
