金雀花和金雀花王朝——planta genista and Plantagenet

Dan Jones的The Plantagenets（中译《金雀花王朝》）一书中解释Plantagenet一词时是这么说的：“It was from the Latin name (Planta genista) of the broom that the name Plantagenet derived,…”。这句话的意思是说Planta genista是broom（金雀花的英文名称）的植物拉丁学名，而Plantagenet就从这个拉丁学名而来的。稍有点植物学知识的人一看就会认可Planta genista，双名，斜体，完美的植物拉丁学名！问题大概出在作者用了Planta而非planta，写成了植物属名的形式。

Genista是染料木属，planta就是plant的意思，planta genista似应指这一属的植物。下图是该属的一种植物

维基百科将Plantagenet指向了Cytisus scoparius，这就是金雀儿，也叫金雀花，属于金雀儿属Cytisus。指向这个植物让我很开心，理解了为什么中文要将Plantagenets译作金雀花王朝。

实际上染料木属和金雀花属是近亲，都属于染料木族Genisteae，从以下系统位置看得更清楚：

被子植物门 Angiospermae

双子叶植物纲 Dicotyledoneae

原始花被亚纲 Archichlamydeae

蔷薇目 Rosales

蔷薇亚目 Rosineae

豆科 Leguminosae

蝶形花亚科 Papilionoideae

染料木族 Genisteae

金雀儿属Cytisus、染料木属Genista、羽扇豆属Lupinus（鲁冰花是这个属的）等等……

在英文里金雀儿属Cytisus、染料木属Genista的植物都可以称作broom，据说染料木族Genisteae的一些种也可以笼统地称为broom。不知道Geoffrey count of Anjou帽子上所插yellow broom blossom究竟是哪一种植物，姑且都叫金雀花吧！
