It is amazing!
“傲慢”的80%来自于Mr. Darcy,20%来自于Lizzy(Elizabeth的昵称);
Darcy。
Lizzy:
“She is tolerable; but not handsome enough to tempt me; and I am in no humor at present to give consequence to young ladies who are slighted by other men.”
Lizzy对Mr. Darcy:
“I could easily forgive his pride, if he had not mortified mine.”
“He has a very satirical eye, and if I do not begin by being impertinent myself, I shall soon grow afraid of him.”
Mr. Darcy
Wickham
Mr. Darcy
In the rain:
Mr. Darcy:Miss Elizabeth. l have struggled in vain and can bear it no longer. These past months have been a torment. l came to Rosings only to see you. l have fought against judgments, my family's expectation, the inferiority of your birth, my rank.
l will put them aside and ask you to end my agony.
Lizzy: l don't understand.
Mr. Darcy:I love you. Most ardently. Please do me the honour of accepting my hand.
Lizzy: Sir, l appreciate the struggle you have been through, and l am very sorry to have caused your pain, it was unconsciously done.
Mr. Darcy:Is that your reply?
Lizzy: Yes, sir.
Mr. Darcy: Are you laughing at me?
Lizzy: No. 没有
Mr. Darcy:Are you rejecting me?
Lizzy:I'm sure the feelings which hindered your regard will help you overcome it.
Mr. Darcy:Might I ask why with so little civility I am thus repulsed?
Lizzy:I might enquire why you told me you liked me against your better judgment?
Lizzy:If I was uncivil, then that is some excuse.
Lizzy: But you know I have other reasons.
Mr. Darcy:What reasons?
Lizzy:Do you think anything might tempt me to accept the man who has ruined the happiness of a most beloved sister?
Lizzy:Do you deny that you separated a young couple who loved each other, exposing your friend to censure for caprice and my sister to derision for disappointed hopes, involving them both in acute misery?
Mr. Darcy: I do not deny it.
Lizzy: How could you do it?
Mr. Darcy:I believed your sister indifferent to him. I realized his attachment was deeper than hers.
Lizzy:She's shy!
Mr. Darcy:Bingley was persuaded she didn't feel strongly.
Lizzy:You suggested it.
Mr. Darcy:For his own good.
Lizzy:My sister hardly shows her true feelings to me.
Lizzy:I suppose his fortune had some bearing?
Mr. Darcy:No, I wouldn't do your sister the dishonour. It was suggested...
Lizzy:What was?
Mr. Darcy:It was clear an advantageous marriage...
Lizzy: Did my sister give that impression?
Mr. Darcy: No! No. There was, however, your family...
Lizzy:Our want of connection? Mr. Bingley won’t consider that…
Mr. Darcy:No, it was more than that.
Lizzy:How, sir?
Mr. Darcy:The lack of propriety shown by your mother, younger sisters and your father. Forgive me. You and your sister I must exclude from this.
Lizzy:And what about Mr Wickham?
Mr. Darcy:Mr Wickham?
Lizzy:What excuse can you give for your behaviour?
Mr. Darcy:You take an eager interest.
Lizzy:He told me of his misfortunes.
Mr. Darcy:Oh, they have been great.
Lizzy:You ruin his chances, yet treat him with sarcasm.
Mr. Darcy:So this is your opinion of me?
Mr. Darcy:Thank you. Perhaps these offences might have been overlooked had not your pride been hurt by my scruples about our relationship. I am to rejoice in the inferiority of your circumstances?
Lizzy:And those are the words of a gentleman.
Lizzy:Your arrogance and conceit, your selfish disdain for the feelings of others made me realise you were the last man in the world I could ever marry.
Mr. Darcy:Forgive me, madam, for taking up so much of your time.
Mr. Darcy
Darcy无关(尽管他与Wickham的关系复杂),他完全是为了Lizzy(最后他向Lizzy坦白了:“This is all for you!”)
Lady Catherine:You can be at no loss to understand why I am here.
Lizzy:I cannot account for this honour at all.
Lady Catherine:I warn you, I am not to be trifled with. A most alarming report
has reached me. That you intend to be united with my nephew, Mr Darcy. I know this to be a falsehood. Though not wishing to injure him by supposing it possible, I instantly set off to make my sentiments known.
Lizzy:If you believed it impossible, I wonder that you came so far.
Lady Catherine:To hear it contradicted.
Lizzy:Your coming will be a confirmation if such a report exists.
Lady Catherine:lf? You pretend to be ignorant of it? Has it not been industriously circulated by yourself?
Lizzy:I have never heard of it.
Lady Catherine:Can you declare there is no foundation for it?
Lizzy:I do not pretend to posses equal frankness with your Ladyship. You may ask a question which I may choose not to answer.
Lady Catherine:Has my nephew made you an offer of marriage?
Lizzy:Your Ladyship has declared it to be impossible.
Lady Catherine:Mr Darcy is engaged to my daughter. Now what have you to say?
Lizzy:If that is the case, you cannot suppose he would make an offer to me.
Lady Catherine:Selfish girl. This union has been planned since their infancy.Do you think it can be prevented by a woman of inferior birth whose own sister's elopement resulted in a scandalously patched-up marriage only achieved at the expense of your uncle. Heaven and Earth! Are the shades of Pemberley to be thus polluted? Tell me once and for all, are you engaged to him?
Lizzy:I am not. 没有。
Lady Catherine:Will you promise never to enter into such an engagement?
Lizzy:I will not and I certainly never shall.
Lizzy:You have insulted me in every possible way and can now have nothing further to say. I must ask you to leave immediately.
Lady Catherine:I have never been thus treated in my entire life!

has reached me.
