余光中《四个假想敌》片段翻译练习（中译英、俄）

《四个假想敌》原文：

而最可惱的，卻是树上的果子，竟有自動落入行人手中的樣子。樹怪行人不該擅自來摘果子，行人卻說是果子剛好掉下來，給他接著罷了。

修改过的英文翻译，改了一些小的语法错，老师评分为 B++/A-

And what irritates the tree the most is that the fruits on it, to its unpleasant surprise, appear to be willing to fall off into passer-by’s hands, The tree accuses the passer-by of picking the fruits without permission, the passers-by, justifying themselves, argue that they are merely catching the fruits which happened to fall off the tree.

被老师称为“完美“的David Pollard的翻译:

The most annoying thing is the way the fruit on the tree actually falls into the passer-by’s hand of its own volition. The tree blames the passer-by for presuming to pick the fruit, while the passer-by claims that the fruit just happened to fall, and he merely caught it.

完美之处在于David Pollard成功了再现了余光中原文的风格——优雅的口语。Of its own volition与persume to do sth. 属于较少用到的表达，但用在这里恰到好处。 Of its own volition处于句子最末，属于强调信息，表达出树的一种惊讶：“竟”。

俄译：

Дерево больше всего раздражает самоволие плодов, которые вот-вот сами опадут в руки прохожего! Дерево обвиняет прохожего в его дерзкой претензии на плоды, а прохожий в свое оправдание возражает, что он просто собирает плоды, опавшие с дерева случайно.

最初第一句采用的句式是Дерево больше всего раздражает то, что但此句政论语体意味太重，因此替换成了现在的句式。个人认为дерзкая претензия 以及в свое оправданиe较有书面味，可以呼应原文的语体。

“竟有自動落入行人手中的樣子“原文所表现出的“...的样子”的这一层意味在David Pollard以及我的俄译当中，似乎没有得到明确的体现。原本希望采用казаться/показаться一词来体现这一层含义，但最终没有组织出合适的语言表达整句话的含义，所以最终放弃使用。
