The miraculous journey of Edward Tulane爱德华的奇妙之旅
I opened this book for about a week ago and today I finished it. Thanks to the TV drama of South Korea, MY LOVE FROM THE STAR, I know something about this book. Our leading role,Edward, is a rabbit doll made from China with bendable arms and legs as well as ears with real fur. He is loved so much by a gir, Ebilene, and is dressed with beautiful clothes,hats and shoes. Besides,he has his own treasure, a watch which is always put in his pocket. However, at first, his love is not equivalent to Ebilene's.
On the voyage to England, unluckily, he was thrown into the sea and his watch was left in the hand of Ebilene. With the scream of "come back", Edward kept sinking and his journey bagan.
He was saved by a fisher and cared by his wife; then he met a hobo and his dog; later he was dressed as a scarecrow but saved by a boy who owe his sick sister a China doll. All of them loved Edward so much and Edward can not help thinking about them and saying their name again and again. Though they all love Edward, and so does Edward, he can not stay with them forever and unwillingly start his next journey.
Finally, Edward has to stay in a doll shop and waiting for someone to buy. Seasons come, years come and nothing change. Edward is reluctant to open his heart and think no one's gonna love him any more, but an old doll tell him not to give up and "some one will come." Edward try to open his heart and believe that some one will come. One day, someone does come. A girl named Maggi chooses Edward and tells her mother that she wants Edward. Maggi's mom sees Edward and recognizes him, she is Ebilene and she still keeps Edward's watch and wears it in the necklace. She never forget Edward and so does Edawrd. After decads of years,Edward finally finds his way home. When Abilene said "Edward?" and Edward said "Yes" in his heart, I was moved and almost cried. Poor Edward,my dear, finally, finally, you go home. Though Ebilene has became a mother,but her love never change. What's more, her daughter is like another Abilene, she loves Edward, too. This story end with love.
