Zootopia Chapter 1
The wild sounds of ancient predators sounded out repeatedly through a large farm building in Bunnyburrow.
A young bunny named Judy Hopps appeared on a temporary stage.
She was trying to find her way through a fake rain forest made of recycled paper and pieces of thick cardboard.
Judy’s voice rang out loud and clear.
“Fear. Betrayal. Desire for blood! Thousands of years ago, these were the forces that ruled our world.
A world where prey were scare of predators.
And predators hand an uncontrollable desire to attack, injure and kill and—”
Suddenly, a jaguar sprang at her from the shadows! “Blood, blood, blood!”Judy screamed as she collapsed under the attack.
“And death.”
After a terribly long moment of silence, Judy sat up, faced the confused audience, and smiled as she continued her speech.
A poster reading“Carrot Days Talent Show”hung over the astonished crowd.
“Back then, the world was divided in two: deadly predatoror defenseless prey.”
Two cardboard boxes dropped down from the roof.
The first, labeled deadly predator in crayon, landed on top of the jaguar, and the second, labeled defenseless prey, landed on Judy.
The boxes settled on their shoulders so their heads, arms, and legs stuck out.
“But over time, we evolved and moved beyond our ancient, savage ways.”
A young sheep wearing a white gown and a cardboard rainbow on his head did an unprepared dance across the stage.
Judy and the jaguar burst out of their boxes, now wearing white gowns, too.
“Now predator and prey live in harmony.”
No longer acting as a deadly predator, the jaguar now looked like just another friendly youngsters.
He shook hands with Judy.
Meanwhile, the sheep showered them with flowers.
“And every young mammal has countless opportunities,”Judy said.
“Yeah. Idon’t have to tremble in fear in a herd of sheep anymore,”said the sheep.
Then he tore off his gown.
Underneath his gown, he was wearing an astronaut costume that had clearly been made by hand.
“Instead, Ican be an astronaut.”
“Idon’t have to grow up to be a lonely hunter,”said the jaguar, showing a business suit under his gown.
“Today I can hunt for tax relief. I’m gonna be a tax accountant!”
“And Ican make the world a better -saving lives, defending the defenseless! Iam going to be…”
Judy tore off her gown and stood in a blue uniform.
“A police officer!”
In the audience, an unpleasant fox kid named Gideon Grey laughed secretly with his two friends.
“Bunny cop. That is the most stupidest thing Iever heard,”he said.
Back on the stage, it seemed as if Judy had heard his remark.
“It may sound impossible…to small minds,”she said, pointing at him.
“I’m looking at you, Gideon Grey.”
Judy snapped her fingers and a backdrop showing a bright city with outlines of tall buildings unrolled behind her.
“But just two hundred and eleven miles away stands the great city of…ZOOTOPIA!
Where our ancestors first joined together in peace.
And declared that Anyone Can Be Anything! Thank you and good night!”
Judy proudly bowed, as if she had just given the performance of her life.
Sounds of dutiful claps came from the audience, including her parents, Bonnie and Stu Hopps.
Moments later, Judy, still wearing her police costume, excitedly exited the building with her parents.
Outside, the Carrot Days Festival was in full swing as everyone enjoyed booths, games, and rides.
“Judy, ever wonder how your mom and me got to be so terriblyhappy?”Stu asked.
“Oh yes,”Bonnie agreed. “That’s right, Stu. We settled hard.”
“See, that’s the beauty of being self-satisfied, Jude.
If you don’t try anything new, you’ll never fail,”Stu said.
“Ilike trying, actually,”Judy said.
“Well, I’ll tell you how,”Stu continued, as if he hadn’t heard Judy.
“We gave up on our dreams and we settled, right, Bon?”
Bonnie looked at their daughter.
“What your father means, honey…
It’s gonna be difficult-impossible, even-for you to become a police officer.”
“Iguess I’ll have to be the first one!”said Judy as she quickly jumped onto a fence for fun.
“Because I’m gonna make the world a better place.”
“Or…okay, you wanna talk about making the world a better place-no better way to do it than becoming a carrot farmer,”said Stu.
“Yes! Your dad and me and your two hundred seventy-five brothers and sisters-we’re changing the world one carrot at a time,”said Bonnie.
“Exactly! Carrot farming is a noble profession,”Stu agreed.
But Judy stopped paying attention to her parents when she spotted Gideon Grey following some little kids.
Sensing danger, she was instantly alert, and she went after him.
“You get it, honey?”Bonnie asked Judy.
“Imean, it’s great to have dreams.”
“Yeah, just as long as you don’t believe in them too much,”Stu continued as he looked around for his daughter.
“Jude? Where the hell did she go?”

在Bunnyburrow的一个大型农场建筑里，反复回响着古代肉食动物的狂野吼叫。
一个名叫Judy Hopps兔子青年出现在一个临时搭建的舞台上。她在一座由废纸和废弃的厚纸板搭建的假雨林中试图寻找出路。
Judy的声音大声传来，清晰明亮：“上千年以前，恐惧、背叛和对血腥的渴望是统治这个世界的力量！
在这个世界里，食草动物对捕食动物充满恐惧。
捕食动物对袭击、伤害和屠杀充满毫无节制的渴望，而且——”
突然，一只美洲虎从隐蔽处扑向Judy。“血、血、血！”Judy被美洲虎袭击倒地，大声尖叫。
“和死亡。”
在一阵十分长久的沉默之后，Judy坐起来，面对迷惑的观众，微笑着继续她的演讲。
在吃惊的人群上方挂着一张海报，海报上写着《胡萝卜天才剧》。
“后来，世界被分成两类：致命的捕食动物或者毫无防御能力的食草动物。”
两个纸板箱从屋顶掉下来。
用蜡笔标注着致命捕食动物的第一个箱子砸在了美洲狮的头上，第二个，标注着毫无防御能力的食草动物的箱子，落在了Judy的头上。
盒子落在他们的肩膀上，因此，他们的头、胳膊和腿还露在外面。
“但是，随着时间的推移，我们朝着古代那种野蛮方式相反的方向进化和发展。”
一只穿着白袍的绵羊青年头戴彩虹色纸板，在舞台上表演了一段即兴舞蹈。
“现在捕食动物和食草动物和睦地生活。”
美洲虎不再作为一只危险的捕食动物，它现在看起来就只是另一只友好的年轻人。
他同Judy握手。
同时，绵羊给它们洒下满天花雨。
“每一个年轻的哺乳动物都有无数的机会。”Judy说。
“是的，我不必在一群绵羊里恐惧地颤抖。”绵羊说。
接着，他脱下了他的袍子。
在他的袍子下面，穿着一套明显是手工制作的宇航服。
“相反，我可以成为一个宇航员。”
“我不必在长大后成为孤独的猎食者。”美洲狮说道，在他的袍子下显露出一套商务套装。
“如今我可以去搜寻税务减免。我要成为一名税务会计师！”
“我要让世界变得更好，拯救生命、保护弱者！我想成为……”
Judy扯下她的袍子，身着一套蓝色警服。
“一名警官！”
在观众席里，一只名叫Gideon Grey的不友好的狐狸和他的两个朋友偷偷地笑了。
“兔子警察。那是我听到过的最愚蠢的事情。”他说。
舞台上，Judy好像听到了他的评论。
“这听起来似乎不可能…...对目光短浅者来说。”她说，指着Gideon Grey的方向。
“Gideon Grey，我看见你了。”
Judy移动她的手指，指着她身后展开的背景图，那是一座高大建筑成群的辉煌城市。
“但是，就在距离我们仅仅211英里以外的地方，矗立着这座伟大的动物城！”
“在这里，我们的祖先首次和平地相处在一起。
并且宣称，在这里，每个人都有无限的可能性。谢谢大家。晚安。”
Judy骄傲地鞠躬，就好像她刚刚给大家展示了她人生中最伟大的作品。
观众想起由衷的掌声，包括Judy的父母，Bonnie和Hopps。
几分钟后，Judy依然穿着她的警服，跟她的父母一起，激动地退场。
外面，胡萝卜节摇曳多姿，每个人都在享受着大排档、游戏，以及观光车。
“Judy,你是不是很迷惑我和你的妈妈是怎样做到如此幸福的？”Stu问道。
“哦，我来告诉你。”Stu继续到，好像他没有听到Judy刚才在舞台上说的话。“我们放弃了我们的梦想，我们安定下来了，是吗，Bon？”
“哦，是的。”Bonnie同意到，“对的，Stu。我们努力安定下来。”
“看，那就是知足的美妙之处，Jude。如果你不去尝试新事物，你永远不会失败。”Stu说。
“我喜欢尝试，真的。”Judy说。
Bonnie看着他们的女儿。
“你的父亲的意思是，甜心……对你来说，成为一名警官是很困难的，几乎是不可能的。”
“从来没有一只兔子警察。”Stu说。
“我猜我将不得不做第一个兔子警察！”Judy一边说，一边快速地愉快地跳上了一道篱笆。
“因为我将使这个世界变成一个更好的地方。”
“哦，好吧，如果你想谈论使世界变得更好的方法，没有任何方式比得上成为一个种胡萝卜的农民。”Stu说道。
“是的！你爸爸和我以及你的275个兄弟姐妹，我们正在改变这个世界，有时就是一个胡萝卜的事。”
“确实！种植胡萝卜是一个优雅的职业。”Stu赞同。
但是Judy看到Gideon Grey跟随着一些小家伙时，她不再注意她父母的说话。
感觉到危险，她立即警惕，并且尾随Gideon Grey而去。
“你听懂了吗，甜心？”Bonnie问Judy。
“我的意思是，有梦想总是好的。是的，只要你不过分沉迷梦想。”Stu继续说，并四处寻找他的女儿。
“Judy?她去哪儿了？”
