萌萌哒男二上线啦，Jacob只有15岁你敢想？
1. Jessica especially seemed to get a kick out of that story.
a kick out 极大的乐趣，不只是生物课晕血，光是中午和Edward坐一起吃饭就很能引发大家的好奇心了。
2. I meant to sleep in, but an unusual brightness woke me.
Sleep in 睡懒觉，加上 oversleep，我知道两个赖床啦。
3. That one gave me a dirty look as I got out of the truck, and whispered something to Lauren.
哇三五成堆的女孩凑在一起嬉戏地对另一个女孩品头论足，这简直就是我学生时代的噩梦。dirty look 轻蔑不悦的眼色，摆臭脸。这个Lauren没在电影里出现，但是她不喜欢Bella，可能因为Bella的转学吸引了很多男生的目光，可能因为她能和Edward坐一起吃午饭，更有可能什么都不因为。
4. "Will you ride in my car? You can have shotgun." He promised.
这里的shotgun不是猎枪，是副驾驶座位的意思。《摩登家庭》里有一集就是Mitchell打开老爸Jay的副驾驶门，发现Manny已经占了他的位置。
5. There was a brisk wind coming off the waves, cool and briny.
海浪卷着凛冽的寒风，凉爽中有一点咸咸的味道。briny好像是专门形容海水海风的词哎，意思是海水的；咸咸的。
6. The green light of the forest was strangely at odds with the adolescent laughter.
be at odds with 与......相矛盾。
7. A boy who looked to be the oldest of the visitors rattled off the names of the seven others with him. All I caught was that one of the girls was also named Jessica, and the boy who noticed me was named Jacob.
男二出场啦，一上来就眼里都是Bella了嘛。看电影的时候总觉得除了男女主官配以外的爱情线连接人物都是第三者，或许看完小说我会喜欢上Jacob，rattle off 飞快说出。
8. Mike-- with Jessica shadowing him-- headed up to the one shop in the village.
Jessica毫不掩饰对Mike的喜欢，shadow作动词 如影随形。
9. His skin was beautiful, silky and rust-colored; He still had just a hint of childish roundness left around his chin.
这句话是对Jacob长相的描写，黄褐色的皮肤光滑有弹性，还有一丢丢婴儿肥。
childish roundness = baby fat
10. I hoped that young Jacob was as yet inexperienced around girls, so that he wouldn't see through my sure-to-be-pitiful attempts at flirting.
Bella为了知道Cullen一家为什么不能来这个沙滩玩儿，准备色诱Jacob，引他说出真相，see through 看穿
11. I tried to make my smile alluring, wondering if I was laying it on too thick.
lay it on (口语)露骨地恭维；做得过分（例如奉承，责备，讨好等）哇想想Bella做这种动作就觉得好笑哎！
12. Well, there are lots of legends, some of them claiming to date to the Flood.
首字母大写的Flood指《创世纪》里的大洪水，天神见到人类残忍暴力，道德败坏等一系列的邪恶行为，于是降怒于人类，制造了这场洪水。相关的诺亚方舟就是 Noah's ark.
13. " Well, not the wolf, really, but the wolves that turn into men, like our ancestors. You could call them werewolves."
狼人!狼人！werewolf! werewolf!
14. "And what are they?" I finally asked.
"Blood drinkers," he replied in a chilling voice. "Your people call them vampires."
吸血鬼！吸血鬼！vampire! vampire!
15. "You have goose bumps," he laughed delightedly.
Bella听了Jacob的 scary story以后，起了一身的鸡皮疙瘩，我也激动地起了一身鸡皮疙瘩！
小说里Jacob在第六章才出场，一出场就带来了这么劲爆又推动故事情节发展的故事，为他鼓掌！
