海中孤岛(高中时读莎翁的“暴风雨”后写下的小诗)
An Island in the Sea
-Inspired by William Shakespeare
Amid the boundless roaring water
lay the Island in the sea,
where the formidable billow surges,
echoing the tale of intrigue.
Verdant vale renders pleasurable bowers,
foiling the blooming sunflowers.
Beneath the idling sunset,
ancient man erected cloud-capped towers.
Amid the boundless roaring water
lay the Dukedom in the sea,
where the righteous , the cunning, and the candid lingered
to unveil an episode of fantasy.
Under the porcelain-like moonlight,
destiny professed love and passions,
Beside the nook full of shadows.
villains plotted treacherous actions.
Imposingly stood Palaces and temples,
in which gods and goddesses assemble.
Airy revels and masquerades
displayed all that man can embrace.
But do not be deceived by this vivid vision!
For the dissipation of which could but impends .
Like a baseless fabrication,
temporal ecstasy could never transcend.
Amid the boundless roaring water
lay the island in the sea,
where the silver streams converge and run down
to that endless sea.
Wave on wave the flow proceeds;
gone all heroes and villains astray.
Great or humble, good or evil, all turned out in vain.
Only green hills remain
to behold the sun’s last departing ray!
