下面就跟我一起探索ATAS的奥秘吧。
1. 什么是ATAS？
ATAS全称是Academic Technology Approval Scheme, 英国从2007年11月1日开始要求申请者如果申请的课程属于敏感类的，涉及国家安全机密的课程必须在申请签证之前先申请ATAS，并作为一个必备的签证材料递交，否则签证申请将会被拒。
2. ATAS的有效期？6个月
3. 何时申请？课程开课前的9个月前
4. ATAS审理周期：官方公布是20个工作日，但是遇到高峰期（6-8月）审理周期会加长
5. 哪些课程需要申请？
1）Taught Programs, 课程JACS code以以下开头的:
F2 – Materials Science
F3 – Physics (including Nuclear Physics)
H3 – Mechanical Engineering
H4 – Aerospace Engineering
H8 – Chemical, Process and Energy Engineering
J5 – Materials Technology not otherwise specified
2）PhD programs或者 Masters by Research Course或者visiting research student
