【Vol.6】5月28日 – 20年后，寺田克也重回上海
寺田克也中国巡回活动已经过半，今天是上海活动的第一天。
We’ve come a half way on this China tour. Today is the first day of the event in Shanghai.
怒涛の中国ツア～も折り返しにきました。本日は上海でのイベント初日です。
上海今天天气晴朗，感觉像初夏，听说日本这时候已经很热了。
A wonderful Shanghai morning with a clear sky. It feels like a fine early summer day while in Japan I heard that it’s extremely hot for May.
上海の朝は快晴。日本は5月だというのに30度を超えていると聞きますが、上海は気持ちの良い初夏、という感じです。
我们提前到了光的空间新华书店，因为明天的现场作画环节将使用到的iPad，需要调试一下网络环境和相关设置。
We went to the “Light Space” Xinhua Bookstore little bit early because today Terada-san is going to use his iPad for his live drawing event and we needed time to check the network connection settings.
イベント会場である「光的空間」に早めに向かいます。今日はライブ・ドローイングにiPadを用いるため、機材の接続チェックなどを行います。
寺田桑在广州站活动完成的巨作已经展示在活动场地中。在画作的背后，《寺田克也原寸》以T字呈现着。新华书店的员工解释道：“T就是寺田先生英文字母的那个T。”他们这个周到的考虑让我觉得很暖心。
Terada-san’s masterpiece which he produced in Guangzhou was displayed at the venue. Behind the artwork, “KATSUYA TEARDA REAL SIZE” was displayed in the shelves in a letter “T” shape. Xinhua Bookstore staff says it’s “T” for Terada. A kind thoughtfulness made my day.
サイン会予定の場所には、寺田さんが広州・方所書店で描き起こした作品が展示されていました。本棚には『寺田克也原寸』がTの字で置かれていますが、TeradaのTだそうです。書店さんの心遣いがうれしい。
投影仪的幕布从天花板上放下。
A screen came down from the ceiling.
ライブ・ドローイング会場の天井からスクリーンが下りてきました。
We have successfully connected Terada-san’s iPad to the projector via AirPlay. Perfect.
寺田さんのiPadをAirPlayでプロジェクターに接続。全く問題なしです。
活动即将开始，活动区的座位渐渐坐满了观众。
As the starting time approaches, the seats began to fill up with people.
開演の時間が近づき、大勢のお客さんが集まってきました。
就在活动开始前，寺田桑在后面观察着今天到场的观众。真是个紧张的时刻。
Just before the starting time, Terada-san watches the crowd from the back. An intense moment.
イベント開始直前、会場の後ろから様子を見守る寺田さんたち。緊張の一瞬です。
As Terada-san appears, the crowd gives him a big round of applause. Terada-san takes his seat and all at once the audience holds their smartphones.
入場と同時に大きな拍手が。寺田さん着席後、観客はいっせいにスマホを構えます。
寺田桑快速拿出iPad开始绘画。这是什么？好像是毛发。
Quickly Terada-san begins to draw. What this might be? Looks like a hair to me.
寺田さん、早速iPadでのドローイングを始めました。これはなんでしょうね？ 髪の毛に見えます。
是“大猿王”！当问到寺田桑在上海站活动画什么观众会比较喜欢时，Astrid不假思索回答“大猿王”，寺田桑可能听从了她的建议。
This is“Monkey King”! Terada-san might have taken Astrid-san’s advice. She answered to my question without hesitation “Monkey King!” when asking her what should Terada-san draw that makes fans in Shanghai happy.
これは「大猿王」です！ 事前にセンドポインツのAstridさんに、上海で何を描いたらファンは喜ぶかな？と聞いたとき、「大猿王です」と即答したことを寺田さんは参考にされたのかもしれません。
今天的活动和广州站活动的区别在于，今天在寺田桑作画的时候，同步增设了Q&A环节。
What makes today’s event different from the event in Guangzhou is that there is a Q&A session simultaneously while Terada-san is drawing.
今回、広州でのイベントと違うのは、ライブドローイング中に観客からの質問を受けるところです。
三田桑（中间那位）负责将粉丝的中文问题翻译成日语传达给寺田桑。Miki桑负责将寺田桑的回答翻译成中文转达给观众。不错的团队合作！
Mita-san (center) translates fan’s Chinese into Japanese. Miki-san (left) translates Terada-san’s Japanese into Chinese. Nice teamwork!
中国語での質問を日本語で寺田さんに伝えるのが中央の三田さん、寺田さんからの日本語での回答を中国語で観客に伝えるのが左のMIKIさん。
最初，观众们都有点害羞和紧张，但是一回合提问后，观众的问题接连而至。观众们争相提问，像最后一次提问那样想把握机会。观众的提问有“数码绘画是什么感觉？”“随着经验累积，自己在绘画方面有什么变化？”“你画画使用什么样的画具”等问题。
At first, everyone was kind of shy and nervous to be the first one but after the first question, the question kept coming one after another. The fans threw many questions at him as if this is their last chance. Just to give you some example, there were questions like “How is it like drawing in digital”, ”What has changed as you gained experience”, ”About the materials you use” and so on.
最初は、遠慮してか質問の手が上がらなかったのですが、一人質問してからは絶え間なく質問が続きます。「デジタルで描くということ」「年齢を重ねていったときの変化」「画材について」など、ここぞとばかりに聞きたいと思っていたことを口にしていきます。
寺田桑很礼貌地回答了观众的每个问题。
Terada-san answers each question politely.
观众：你怎么保持自己绘画的动力？
Question: “How do you keep yourself motivated?”
寺田桑：“洗个澡，好好睡觉，不要熬夜，我通常每天要睡8小时。”
Terada-san: “Take a good bath, sleep well and never stay up all night. I usually sleep for 8 hours”.
观众：我自己在画画之前通常要思考一个小时才动笔，您呢？
Question: “I usually think about an hour before I start to draw, how about you?”
寺田桑：除了睡觉和朋友一起玩之外，我会把大量时间花在画画和思考上。思考出一些新想法、新的构图或者相关。
Terada-san: “Besides when I’m sleeping and spending my time with my friends, I spend most of the time either drawing or thinking. Thinking about new ideas and layouts and such”.
观众：怎么样才能画好机械装置呢？
Question: “How do I get good at drawing mechanics?”
寺田桑：当最开始画汽车的时候，我从杂志上了解汽车的结构。当你了解原理之后，你可以想到一些新的运用。我在工作中有时候会画一些虚构的事物比如“龙”。为了画不存在的东西，我需要了解到人体或其他物体的构造，这样的经历使我受益匪浅。
Terada-san: “I learnt the structure from magazines when I first started drawing automobiles. When you understand the basics you can apply those into something new. My job is to draw something unreal, like a dragon. It helped me a lot spending long hours learning human body and other structures so as to draw something that doesn’t exist”.
寺田桑全程都在和想要成为插画师的观众们讲解自己的人生智慧。
Terada-san kept giving word of wisdom to those who wish to become an illustrator.
ひとつひとつ、丁寧に回答する寺田さん。モチベーションを保つには？「ちゃんと風呂に入って寝ること。徹夜はしない。8時間寝ます。」 私は絵を描く前に1時間くらい考えてしまいますが、寺田さんは？「僕も絵を描くのと同じくらいの時間、考えています。寝ているとき、友達と遊んでるとき以外は、いつも次の構図やアイデアを考えています。」 メカを描くのがうまくなるにはどうすれば？「車を描くときは実際の車の構造を雑誌などから学びました。構造を理解すると応用できる。自分の仕事は龍など『実際に無いもの』を描くことだが、長い時間をかけて人体など様々な構造を理解し、無いものを描けるようになった」 絵を志す方にとっては珠玉の言葉の数々を話し続けます。
有一位粉丝对寺田桑说了十分暖心的一段话。
“我是因为你才开始学画画的，现在我已经是一位专业的插画师了。”此时的大家都深受感动，掌声响起。
There was a fan who sent Terada-san a heartwarming message.
“It was because of you that I started learning how to draw and now I have become a professional illustrator”.
The venue was filled with the sound of applause.
寺田さんへの想いを伝える方もいました。「寺田さんがいてくれたから、絵を勉強して、今ではプロとして仕事をできるようになりました。」観客から大きな拍手が起きます。
寺田桑边画画，时而缩放时而放大，调节者视角，边回答问题。这样的数码绘画过程对学习画画的人来说，一定是非常受益的。
While answering each question he kept drawing changing the screen size and its angle. These processes in digital drawing must have been useful to see for people learning how to draw.
その間にも画面を縮小したり、斜めにしたりしながら、どんどん絵は描き進められていきます。こうしたデジタルならではの作業も絵を描く人には参考になるはずです。
开始着色了。寺田桑在上背景色时会缩小屏幕画面。
Moving on to coloring. Terada-san shrinks the page to paint wide range.
彩色が始まりました。広い面積を塗りやすくするためか、画面を縮小。
在画细节时会放大屏幕画面。
Expands the page when painting in detail.
細かい部分を塗るときは、拡大。という感じでしょうか。
在短短一小时内，寺田桑边回答着问题，作画就已经完成。从他的经历来看，他对时间把握和完成度的掌控很完美。他非常专业。
Just within an hour, while answering to the questions, Terada-san has come this far. From his experience, he decides how much should he finish and can he finish within the given time. He is so professional.
わずか一時間の間に、質問にも答えながら、ここまで完成。寺田さんは数々の経験から、決められた時間内に絵の完成度をどこまで持っていくか、最初から判断しています。まさにプロです。
现场作画环节之后，作画的过程用延时视频记录了下来。大家此时都拿出手机开始摄影。
After the live drawing event, the whole process in recording was shown in fast forward. It was a smartphone video recording time for everyone. This is entertainment.
ライブ・ドローイング終了後は、絵が描かれるまでの過程が早送りで動画再生されます。みなさんスマホ録画タイム。エンターテイメントですね。

They are from 7.Game. They interviewed Terada-san in Guangzhou on the first day. The couple both loves Terada-san!
この方は広州で取材してくれた7.Gameの方です。夫婦で寺田さんの大ファン！
这几位都是好朋友。他们一起学美术，现在也在一起工作。其中一人拿出了寺田桑瓷盘（瓷盘上面有寺田桑的插画作品）。
They are all friends. They studied art and now they work together. There is a person holding Terada tableware (a plate with Terada-san’s illustration).
友人同士。美術を勉強して、今ではお仕事している仲間だそうです。真ん中に寺田器を持つ人も！
又是一群好朋友一起来参加活动。他们在一家游戏制作公司工作。我意识到，有寺田桑作为偶像，很多上海的读者、漫迷彼此都找到了组织。
Another group of friends. They are working in a game production company. I realized that many people in Shanghai are making connection with each other as Terada-san being their common master.
友人同士。ゲーム制作会社で働いているそうです。寺田さんが共通の話題となって、上海では多くの人同士がつながりを作っているんだなあ。
这位粉丝带了很多寺田桑设计的小物件，还有很多私藏已久的老作品。我响起了在美国圣迭戈Comic Con展上的场景。
A fan bringing many figurines designed by Terada-san and some of his old stuff. Memories from the San Diego Comic Con came back to my mind.
寺田さんがデザインしたフィギュアや、古い作品をたくさん持ってくるファンも。サンディエゴ・コミコンでのサイン会を思い出します。
一位从小看《侦探 神宫寺三郎》了解到寺田桑的男生如今已是大人，和我一样，这个世界真的很小，我们彼此都有共通点。他给我们看了一张打印下来的邮件截图，是寺田桑曾经对他的画作的评价与建议。20年的等待没有白费。
A boy who came to know Terada-san by Jake Hunter was now a grown man. I myself have followed the same path. The world is small. We all have something in common. He showed us a print out of an email. It was an advice on drawing which Terada-san sent him back then. Thank you so much for waiting for 20 years.
『探偵 神宮寺三郎』をきっかけに寺田さんを知った当時の少年は、すっかり大人になっていました。筆者と同じです。世界は思った以上に、共通する部分があります。絵について寺田さんがアドバイスしてくれた、当時の寺田さんとのメールのやりとりも見せてくれました。20年も待っていてくれてありがとう。
突然出现了一直鲸头鹳。
Even a bird showed up.
鳥も来ました。
这位粉丝是一位美术老师，他制作了寺田桑创作的龙的3D原型，非常酷。他和学生一起来追星，我觉得他们这种师生关系很有爱。寺田桑的传奇也许就是这样传承下去的。
This person who is an art teacher showed us an artwork which made Terada-san’s dragon in 3D! Cool! He was with his student. I was deeply touched by their heartwarming relationship. This is how Terada-san’s legacy is being passed on.
この方！美術の先生で、寺田さんの龍を立体化した作品を見せてくれました。すごい！お弟子さんも一緒にいらして、師弟愛が胸にきます。こうやって寺田さんは伝えられていくんですね。
最后，寺田桑手里拿着的这幅插画，上面用日文撰写着：“你对我的美术学习生涯影响至深，感谢您存在于我的生命之中。”
Last but not the least, the illustration Terada-san was handed had a message saying, “You have given me a huge influence in my life studying art. I’m truly thankful for your existence.” (it was written in Japanese)
最後に。「僕の絵をみてください」と受け取ったイラストには次のようなメッセージが。
「私の絵画勉強の道で先生のために巨大および深い影響を頂きました。この星に先生が存在されて心より感謝申し上げます。」
