翻译吐槽篇之三 | 洞房就是比劈山救母更纠结的故事

写在前面

首先说一下，写“翻译吐槽篇”并不是为了叫苦或者求安慰，只是想用一种有点调侃和自嗨的方式来记录整理做翻译时的经历；同时，也想用一种比较轻松的方式，给抱有“翻译就是把一种语言写成另一种语言”想法的人普及一下翻译中那些难以言传的文字游戏和对跨文化交际的思考。

虽然，我们只是一名文字的搬砖工，但操的心真的不可小觑！

今天，小谦谦要继续讲一讲上回给来访外国专家讲秦腔片段故事的经历。

背景回顾

某天下午，小谦谦被临时安排第二天带领来访外国专家听秦腔。因为秦腔是地方戏，用方言来唱的，我自己其实都听不太懂，更别说要给外国专家讲解了。好在之前关于秦腔的大致背景和唱腔特点我在讲解秦腔博物馆的时候大都知晓，需要准备的就是几个秦腔片段的故事内容。

我联系了第二天参与秦腔表演的老师，提前了解剧目内容。剧目片段共四个：《劈山救母》、《打金枝》、《游龟山-藏舟》、《游龟山-洞房》。

上一篇已经讲了《劈山救母》和《打金枝》，这两个都是单独且知名度较高的故事，比较好讲，而另外两个《游龟山》里的故事就比较小众且复杂了。

我们先按照时间顺序了解一下《藏舟》和《洞房》的故事。

为什么这两个故事比较复杂呢？

第一，因为这两个故事中出现的关系比较复杂。

冲突&关系

《藏舟》

男二vs卖鱼老丈

男一 vs男二

男一vs官兵

男一vs渔家女

《洞房》

男一vs女一

男一vs《藏舟》中的男二（未出镜）

男一vs未出现的女一爸爸（未出镜）

男一vs《藏舟》中的渔家女（未出镜）

女一vs从未谋面的渔家女（未出镜）

女一vs女一（内心天人交战）

第二，因为这两个故事有因果关系，但又是两个单独的故事。

先有了《藏舟》里男主误杀男二，并且与渔家女私定终生，才有了《洞房》之夜他带给女主的纠结（MD，新婚当夜就找不高兴，私定终生咋不提前说？！离婚！）。

但不管内心多么咆哮，故事还得继续讲。

经过以上分析，按时间顺序，应该先《藏舟》再《洞房》。

所以，小谦谦在《藏舟》的开头，“极尽笔墨”渲染了男主，保证他闪亮登场：

A young man, who is rich, handsome and has all noble characteristics that belong to a hero, of course, in traditional Chinese legend, he is good at martial arts (Kongfu).

emmmmmm...写他功夫好主要1)增加趣味性;2)为后文误杀男二铺垫。

而对《洞房》的开头，小谦谦通过回顾前一个故事将二者串联起来：

Inprevious story, we have mentioned that a young man accidentally killed an evil young man for saving the life of an old fisherman.

The following story is actually the next chapter of the previous story…

是不是感觉这样讲非常清晰？非常舒适？非常不容易让人凌乱？

然而，命运总是喜欢和人开一个小小的玩笑，当日演出采用了“倒叙”的手法……

他……他们先洞房了……

那么我们先来《洞房》

通过中文故事我们了解到，它讲的不是“洞房”这个房子，而是讲新婚之夜发生的事情，所以故事名我用了《The Wedding Night》。

根据中文故事情节，我们了解到，新娘是对新郎“一见钟情”了的，所以我们先要给外国人解释一下，为什么会在新婚之夜出现一见钟情的现象。

In ancient China, the bride and the groom usually never met with each other before their wedding.

This story happened at the wedding night, when the bride fell in love with the groom at the first sight.

接着，剧情反转，出现conflicts。为了过渡自然，我加了一句：But later, she was in trouble.

男主杀了女主的哥哥却又救了女主的爸爸而且还有个私定终生的渔家女……

感受一下这糟心的关系。

The groom confessed to the bride that he once had accidentally killed an evil young man who is actually the brother of the bride. But he also saved the life of the bride’s father in a battle, who is a general. （太复杂所以我把渔家女给省略了，因为还会涉及到要解释为什么“私定终身”就不行，为什么已经有了渔家女作女票还要再结婚，为什么即便这样这个男的也在剧中居然不是一个渣男……）

但有这“杀兄救父”的这层关系就够了。当时我讲到这里的时候，台下的外国观众发出了“Oh…”这样的感叹。

于是我就可以引出主角了：You can imagine how struggled, conflicted and confused the bride was.

大家回应：Yes.

所以，这段戏其实就是女主的内心戏：

This piece of Qinqiang Opera is mainly about the internal monologue of the bride.

So you can imagine how struggled, conflicted and confused the bride was.

This piece of Qinqiang Opera is mainly about the internal monologue of the bride.

接着就要讲《藏舟》了

通过中文故事，我们可以了解到，藏舟的“藏”是主动动词，“藏”的语为男主而非“舟”，因此实际为“藏于舟”，所以题目译为《Hid in A Boat》。

不要小看Hid这个词的选择，为此我专门咨询了专业人士：

题目翻译确定了，我们开始讲正文。

因为节目的出场顺序导致故事要以倒叙形式讲述，那我们开头就得提一下上一个故事，这样才能体现这两个故事的男主是同一个人。

Inprevious story, we have mentioned that the groom confessed to his bride that he had accidentally killed her brother. In next piece, we will know why and how he killed the bride’s brother.

为了不浪费之前对男主的渲染，继续让他闪亮登场：A young man, who is rich, handsome and has all noble characteristics that belong to a hero, of course, in traditional Chinese legend, he is good at martial arts (Kongfu).

接着是男二打卖鱼老丈，男一打男二的混战局面：He saw an old fisherman was almost beaten to death by a young man…he tried to save the fisherman and fought against the evil man…he accidentally killed the evil man.

划重点：was almost beaten to death 差一点儿就要打死了

Accidentally killed…一个手滑就杀了……

于是，男主为了逃避追捕，跳上一艘小船，被渔家女给藏在了船上：a fisher maiden helped him by hiding him in her boat.

事情归于平静，男主告诉渔家女自己躲避追兵的真相，（此处瞬间变身为言情小说家小谦谦）渔家小妹才知，原来面前的英俊男子竟是自己父亲的救命恩人！月色渐渐升起，在眼前年轻男子的脸庞镀上一层清辉，映衬着他坚毅的眉眼，还有那薄若刀锋却又性感无比的唇，她不禁看得有些痴了……

咳咳咳咳咳……

所以结局就是：On knowing that the young man has helped to save her father, the girl felt so gratitude and gradually fell in love with him.

A young man, who is rich, handsome and has all noble characteristics that belong to a hero, of course, in traditional Chinese legend, he is good at martial arts (Kongfu).

One day, he was strolling along a riverside, where he saw an old fisherman was almost beaten to death by a young man who looks rich but evil. He was so angry, so he tried to save the fisherman and fought against the evil man. Just as I said, he is great in Kongfu, so he accidentally killed the evil man.

He was scared and ran away to avoid being arrested. Right at the time, a fisher maiden helped him by hiding him in her boat. When things came into peace, he thanked the girl and told her the whole story. The girl then cried and showed him her father’s dead body, it was just the old fisherman.

On knowing that the young man has helped to save her father, the girl felt so gratitude and gradually fell in love with him.
