2020年3月7日至5月22日，1905艺术空间特别策划艺术家驻地计划「原点/空的空间——孙意超个展」将在线下空间与线上平台同步推出。 1905艺术空间从2019年下半年开始筹备此次个展，2020年初突如其来的疫情打乱了原有的计划。我们与艺术家、策展人持续地进行沟通，转变了思路，决定以这样特殊的方式如期呈现此次展览。1905在2013年至2016年连续做了3年艺术家驻地计划，展览空间如同一块空白的画布，留给艺术家更多的思考和尝试。此次展览虽然没有隆重正式的开幕式，但是通过网络与世界各地的人产生交集，也许你不能来到现场，但是布展过程和艺术家的创作过程会真实地呈现在大家面前。1905艺术空间将通过在线直播、影像记录持续跟踪艺术家在空间内的创作，每一天、每一周，镜头前空白的画布都在变化着，展厅也在逐渐丰富，希望以此让大家了解到更多展览背后的故事。艺术家驻地之初，亲手将数万支经过风霜洗礼的向日葵搬进展厅，很震撼！它们象征着希望，寄托着我们的期待，枯萎的向日葵仿佛在这个空间内重生，和所有作品镶嵌在一起。期待疫情散去时，大家能够如往常一样，满怀期待来到1905，和我们相见。

Preface

孙意超个人驻地展览计划《原点/空的空间》艺术家孙意超于2020年3月7日开始在1905艺术空间持续完成一项跨越两个月时间之久的驻地计划——《原点/空的空间》。在本次的艺术家驻地计划中，艺术家孙意超将个人工作室平行“移植”到了展览场地，试图完成一次现场“隔离”绘画行动项目。在这一次的绘画行动进行过程中，1905艺术空间将开放直播平台同步呈现艺术家的工作状态。观众可以通过直播平台实时观看艺术家的工作现场，绘画创作的过程，直至展览最终的安置效果，清晰地了解艺术家孙意超的全部创作状态。最终，艺术家在空间内作品安置完成的一刻，是为《原点/空的空间》展览开幕式的启动。 关于《原点/空的空间》《原点/空的空间》是艺术家孙意超在1905艺术空间举办的第二次个人作品展，艺术家个人的创作媒介涉及了绘画、影像以及行为，其中绘画是艺术家个人作品的主要构成媒介。以油画、丙烯以及综合材料为主，语言表达上从具象写实过渡到观念意象，而后逐渐介入抽象语态领域。艺术家孙意超在完成了对于传统学院派技巧的启蒙后，开始转向新装饰主义的探索，直至形成目前阶段极具个人表述特征的抽象绘画语态。将拼贴、现成品材料的使用以及强调主观感受的绘画技巧并置。在艺术家绘画语义转向过程中，这一阶段对于绘画观念阐释的逐渐形成，曾受到美国艺术家罗伯特·劳森伯格（Robert Rauschenberg）以及德国艺术家安塞尔姆·基弗（Anselm Kiefer）作品的重要影响。艺术家孙意超经历了从侧重微观叙事的图像表述，到主观寻求摆脱图像叙事的束缚，进而开始了向绘画本体的回归，是源于2019年前往法国的一次艺术驻地项目。在法国艺术游历的近三个月时间里，对于法国的艺术教育体系和艺术市场的研究与实践经历，更是直接地促成了艺术家对于抽象绘画语态的全新认知，并准确地进入到西方当代抽象绘画的语境之中。关于本次1905艺术空间驻地计划《原点/空的空间》，是艺术家孙意超对于自身艺术世界的又一次重塑，在面对一个“空”的空间，艺术家将以一种近乎“体验式”的在场绘画方式进行艺术创作议题的重新思索，并且以具有戏剧性的行动阐释角度介入到自身对于当代艺术系统梳理的重建之中，试图让观众、展览空间与艺术家个体构成一种新的互动语境。这应当是本次艺术家驻地计划的最特殊议题之一，当艺术家脱离自己熟悉的创作环境——工作室后，他所能带给自己和观众的会有什么新的角度吗？奇寒

Sun Yichao's soloresidency exhibition project "Origin / Empty Space"

Artist Sun Yichao will initiatea two-month residency projectat 1905 Art Space startingfromMarch 7, 2020---"Origin / Empty Space".

In this artist residency project, Sun Yichao "transplanted" his personal studio to the exhibition venue in parallel, trying to complete an on-site "isolation" painting project.

Intheprocess of painting, 1905 Art Space will present the way the artistworkson the live video platformsimultaneously. The audience can watch the artist's work site and creatingprocess in real time through the platform, until the final placement effect of the exhibition, and clearly understand the Sun Yichao's entire creative state.

In the end, the moment when the artist completesthe placement of his work atthe space meansthe launchof the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

About "Origin / Empty Space""Origin / Empty Space"is hissecond solo exhibition held at1905 Art Space. The artist's personal creative mediainvolvepainting, video, and performance. Among them, painting is the artist's main constituent medium,especiallyoil painting, acrylic painting and mixed materials, language expression transitionsfrom figurative realism to conceptual imagery, and then gradually entersthe field of abstract art.After finishing the enlightenment of the traditional academic techniques, Sun Yichao turnsto the exploration of Neo-Art Deco, until the formation of an abstract painting voice with very personal expression characteristics at the current stage. He puts together and balances theuse of patchworks and ready-made materials and drawing techniques that emphasize his subjective feelings.In the courseof the artist's semantic change in painting, hisinterpretation of painting concepts gradually forms, under theinfluenceof the works by American artist Robert Rauschenberg and German artist Anselm Kiefer.The artist has gonefrom an image expression focusing on micro narrative to a subjective effortofgettingrid of the shackles of image narrative, then concequently beginingto return to the nature of painting. This transformation originatedinan art residency project in Francein 2019. Duringthe nearly three months of art tour across France, the research and practical experience of French art education system and art market has directly contributed to the artist's completely new understanding of abstract painting language, and he accurately entered the context of contemporary abstract paintingin the West.Regarding the 1905 Art Space ResidencyProject"Origin / Empty Space", it isSun Yichao's remodeling of his own art world. In the face of an "empty"space, the artist will use an almost "experiential"way of on-site painting to reconsider artistic creation issues, and step into the reconstruction of clarifying thecontemporary art system from the perspective of interpreting dramatic actions, trying toform a new interactive context among the audience, exhibition space and theartist.It is supposed tobe one of the most special topics of thisartist residency project.
