Hong Kong Light Pollution Targeted
Hong Kong's light pollution has become an international topic with the city's night scene appearing on the cover of the May edition of leading US astronomy magazine Sky & Telescope. A local concern group has urged the government to restrict excessive use of outdoor lighting. Hong Kong-based Ming Pao reported. Victoria Harbor at night, the iconic tourist spot in one of the most brightly lit cities, was targeted as the example of night-time light pollution.
据香港《明报》报道，香港著名的维多利亚港夜景登上美国权威天文学杂志《SKY & TELESCOPE》的5月号封面，成为光污染的反面教材。香港是全球闻名的“不夜城”，而灯光璀璨的维港更是香港的必游之地，此次被权威杂志“相中”标志着香港的光污染严重程度已达到“国际级”。鉴于户外照明装置存在过度使用现象，当地环保机构已敦促政府实行限制。
