The607paintingsandonesculpturedocumentedinVolume4ofTheAndyWarholCatalogueRaisonnewereproducedduringaperiodoflessthanthreeyears,fromlate1974throughearly1977.InSeptember1974,Warholchangedstudios,movingacrossUnionSquarefromthesixthfloorof33UnionSquareWesttothethirdfloorof860WestBroadway.LikeVolumes2and3,Volume4isidentifiedwithanewstudio,whereWarholcontinuedtoworkforadecade,untilhemovedintohislaststudioat22East33rdStreetonDecember3,1984.Volume4maybeseenasthefirstinaseriesofbooksassociatedwithonestudiothatwilldocumentanenormouslyproductiveten-yearperiodinWarhol'soeuvrefromthemidseventiestothemideighties.
