Edexcel INTERNATIONAL GCSE Chemistry (9-1)
Structure: the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in Chemistry is a linear qualification. Two written examinations must be taken in the same series at the end of the course of study.
The assessment model has two papers. Paper 1 is 2 hours long and assesses core (nonbold) content from across the specification. Paper 2 is 1 hour and 15 minutes long and assesses a range of sub-topics (bold content) in greater detail in addition to the core content. Both papers will have a range of question styles and calculators can be used in both papers.
Practical skills will be assessed through the written papers; there is no coursework or practical exam.
