地下国度的王者系列（二）法国著名碾核Disgorged Foetus乐队专访

法国的乐队我之前写过不少了，但是这次要介绍的是我非常喜欢的一支法国的Disgorged Foetus乐队，我记着在刚刚接触碾核音乐的时候，我接触为数不多的乐队中就有Disgorged Foetus乐队，可以说这支乐队是我的启蒙乐队之一，这个是法国的一个小镇，但是名胜古迹非常的多，是法国的一个旅游胜地，就是在这样的一个小镇，1996年诞生了Disgorged Foetus乐队，在组建的同年就发行了第一张六首原创歌曲的demo作品“Vomit in Entrails”当时乐队以限量20份的拷贝自主发行了这张demo，第二年也就是1997年乐队再次发行了第二张demo作品“Degradation of the Lymphatic Tissue”还是乐队自主限量50份拷贝发行，在第二张demo发行完之后，乐队停止了一切活动长达四年之久，2001年乐队携带着第三张作品1也是乐队的第一张EP专辑“The Gore Party”回归了，也正是这张EP专辑，让我更加的；迷恋这种音乐人，当然这张EP也很明显的可以感受到乐队变得更加成熟稳重，如果你喜欢Last Days Of Humanity，Carcass，Gut这类乐队早期作品的话，你什么我相信这张“The Gore Party”作品一定是最喜欢的专辑之一，这张EP专辑就是纯粹的Grindcore作品，没有那些乱七八糟的东西在里面，一些缓慢或者中速的Riff会让你想起我上面所说的这些乐队，但是影响这张专辑最深的乐队一定是Gut乐队，虽然这张EP专辑放到现在很多人一定会觉得这张专辑并没有那么突出，甚至可能很多人都不会对这支有任何兴趣，但是在2001年这张专辑绝对可以称得上佳作，时间来到2002年这一年乐队和来自德国的Vivisection乐队，荷兰的Carnival of Carnage乐队（这支乐队是Rogier Kuzee成立的一支单人乐队，说到Rogier Kuzee可能大家不太熟，但是当我提到Last Days Of Humanity，Tumour等乐队的适合我想很多人就知道了，没错这些乐队都是Rogier Kuzee曾遇过或者组建的乐队）发行了一张Spilt专辑，在这张Spilt专辑发行完之后，2004年乐队发行了一张DVD专辑“Gore Visions”这张DVD的演出是Dams（贝斯 / 歌手）和第一任鼓手Nono一起组织的一个名为“IMPH'AMES”的音乐节（一共举办了3次）录制的，当时邀请了一个专业的录像团队为他们录制的这张DVD，这张DVD也很好的记录了这个时期的Disgorged Foetus乐队，其实这一年，乐队不仅仅录制了这张dvd专辑，其实乐队的第一张正式专辑也是在这一年开始创作的，但是由于各种原因只写了两首歌就停止了工作，最后只能放弃这张专辑的创作，没有发行成功，这可以说是 Disgorged Foetus乐队的一个遗憾吧，但是乐队的第一张正式专辑就会到来，Dams不仅仅参与了Disgorged Foetus乐队他在很早的时候还参与了Frost Domain乐队，这支乐队也是1996年组建的，当时和第一任鼓手Nono一起组建的，当然这支乐队只是在1997年发行了一张demo作品就解散了，然后Dams又组建了一支名为Gorestench的乐队这支乐队以Brutal Death Metal风格为主，当然也并不是很成功在1999年录制了一张demo之后也宣布介绍，Blind Regression这支乐队是Dams刚刚成立不久的乐队，也是他的个人乐队，2020年发行了第一张demo作品，Dams不仅仅组建乐队他还创办了自己的标签Imphalte，主要是为了发行他自己乐队的专辑，Frost Domain乐队，Blind Regression乐队都在他自己的标签发行了专辑，虽然2006年乐队在发行完精选专辑“Years of GOREmageddon”之后因为一些原因宣布解散，但是在2017年乐队又重新回到了人们的视野中继续着乐队的“生命”，当然在2017多家标签联合为Disgorged Foetus乐队制作发行了一张致敬合辑作品，其中包含了27支世界各地的乐队参与，翻唱了很多他们的经典歌曲，这张专辑的发行也是作为为一支伟大的乐队的认可，就在上个月我联系到了Disgorged Foetus乐队主要成员Dams进行了一次深度的交谈，从成立之初到为什么解散，重新复出直到2020年的最新EP创作过程都有了更多的了解，下面就一起走入这支伟大乐队的世界吧（M: 代表笔者 D: 代表Dams）

I’ve written a lot about French bands before, but this time I’m going to introduce a French Disgorged Foetus band that I like very much. I remember that when I first came into contact with grind nuclear music, I came into contact with one of the few bands. There is the Disgorged Foetus band. It can be said that this band is one of my enlightenment bands. This is a small town in France, but there are many places of interest. It is a tourist attraction in France. It is in such a small town in 1996. The Disgorged Foetus band was born in 1999. In the same year it was formed, the first six original song demo work "Vomit in Entrails" was released. At that time, the band independently released this demo in a limited edition of 20 copies. The second year was 1997. The band once again released the second demo work "Degradation of the Lymphatic Tissue" or the band's own limited edition of 50 copies. After the release of the second demo, the band stopped all activities for four years. In 2001, the band stopped all activities. Carrying the third work 1 and the band's first EP album "The Gore Party" is back, and it is this EP album that makes me even more obsessed with this kind of musician, of course, this EP is also very obvious I can feel that the band has become more mature and stable. If you like the early works of Last Days Of Humanity, Carcass, and Gut, you and I believe this "The Gore Party" work must be one of your favorite albums. This EP album is a pure Grindcore work. There is no mess in it. Some slow or medium Riff will remind you of the bands I mentioned above, but the band that has the deepest influence on this album must be Gut, although Many people will feel that this EP album is not so prominent until now. Many people may not even have any interest in this album. But in 2001, this album can definitely be called a masterpiece. Time comes. By 2002, the band and the Vivisection band from Germany and the Carnival of Carnage band from the Netherlands (this band is a single band founded by Rogier Kuzee. When it comes to Rogier Kuzee, you may not be familiar with it, but when I mentioned Last Days Of Humanity, Tumour and other bands are suitable. I think many people know it. Yes, these bands are bands that Rogier Kuzee has met or formed) released a Spilt album. After the release of this Spilt album, In 2004 the band released a DVD album "Gore Visions". This DVD performance was Dams (bass/singer) and the first drummer Nono. It was recorded at a music festival called "IMPH'AMES" (held 3 times in total). At that time, a professional video team was invited to record this DVD for them. This DVD also recorded this period very well. The Disgorged Foetus band, in fact, this year, the band not only recorded this dvd album, in fact, the band’s first official album was also created this year, but due to various reasons, it stopped after only writing two songs. In the end, I had to give up the creation of this album, and the release was not successful. This can be said to be a pity for the Disgorged Foetus band, but the band’s first official album will come. Dams is not only involved in the Disgorged Foetus band. I also participated in the Frost Domain band at a very early time. This band was also formed in 1996 and was formed with the first drummer Nono. Of course, this band only released a demo work in 1997 and then disbanded. Then Dams formed a band called Gorestench. This band was mainly based on Brutal Death Metal style. Of course, it was not very successful. After recording a demo in 1999, it also announced the introduction. The band Blind Regression is Dams just now. The newly established band is also his solo band. In 2020, he released his first demo work. Dams not only formed the band, but also created his own label Imphalte, mainly to release his own band's album, Frost Domain, Blind The Regression band has released albums under his own label. Although the band announced its disbandment after releasing the best album "Years of GOREmageddon" in 2006 for some reasons, in 2017 the band returned to people’s vision and continued the band. Of course, in 2017, multiple labels jointly produced and released a tribute collection for the Disgorged Foetus band, which included 27 bands from all over the world, and covered many of their classic songs. The release of this album is also As a recognition of a great band, just last month I contacted Dams, the main member of the Disgorged Foetus band, and had an in-depth conversation. From the beginning of the establishment to why it was disbanded, it was back until the latest EP creation process in 2020. I think you are participating in an interview from China for the first time.Disgorged Foetus band was founded in 1996 and is a very experienced band in France. So who proposed to form this band in the first place?

hi, right ! this is the first time we have an itw for China magazine, and we are proud of that. we hope to give pleasure to listen to our music for more people in your country ;-) ok, let's start. in 1995 I had a band called FROST DOMAIN (Dark Melodic Death Metal with Nono - drums / Xav - guitar / Dams / bass+vox) and before rehearsal we waited Xav' a few minutes and I was playing some Grind/Gore riffs and sometimes Nono accompanied me with the drums. in few weeks, 1 track was written, and 2 tracks, and 3 tracks .... mid '95, I went to do my military service and during this boring time I wrote some lyrics, handmade logo and created the concept. in 96, we had 6 tracks (without lyrics) and we have recorded a rehearsal under the name "vomit in entrails" guitarist found a job far from our town and we stopped FROST DOMAIN. With Nono we decided to work seriously for DISGORGED FOETUS without guitarist, this was our concept.

In 2006, your band announced its disbandment, so what caused your band to disband? In 2017, you returned to people’s vision, so why did you reorganize the band again? Now the two remaining members of the band except you are the band that only joined in 2018, so why don't you invite the original members to return? These two new members don’t seem to have participated in any bands, they just played in Disgorged Foetus, so how did you invite these two new members to join the band? Does the addition of new members bring any new ideas to the band?

in 2006, we had personnal problems with our families but always remain friends. in 2017, I choose to re-start the band when i find out the tribute released by MUCUPURULENT productions with many bands from around the world called "in GORE we trust : a tribute to DISGORGED FOETUS". it was a great honor for this global recognition. I received a lot of messages from fans and I absolutely didn't think we had so many fans 10 years after the band was stopped. I started writing stuff and called 2 old friends, Yann & Kevin (they had their respective local Metal bands) to do a rehearsal and have a fresh partners and a new musical visions. via the social network, MIERDAS productions discover we re-start the band and give the opportunity to release a MCD and make a digipack version of "Years of GOREmageddon". in few month, we had problem to find rehearsal time and I decide to stop with them because some gigs were coming up and we had to work. I proposed to the ex-members to take their place into the band and then we were able to announce gig and specially the reunion show for OUTCH! fest and confirm gigs in Holland and Germany

You have not released an official album so far, but I know that you actually prepared an official album "Living Through Gore Massacre" in 2004,

yes in 2004, we should have worked on the full lengh but hard to work with personnal problems, only 2 tracks were written and the band has stopped. actually we have 15 tracks for our first full lengh, we work on it, be sure it will be release next year!

M: 你平时作曲的过程是怎样的？ 你能谈谈这个过程吗？

How does your usual process of composing songs go? Can you talk about this process?

working alone in my rehearsal studio (theGraveYard Studio), I save the riff with audio recorder and put it on computer with a very very basic & virtual drum tempo. most of time, I write the entire track to have a good vision of lengh and how put lyrics. all arrengements are 70% done by me and other members give their point of view and we do some changes if necessary. for the previous split CD "Re-Degradating the Tissues", Jo wrote a song, Dav wrote a song, I wrote 2 songs, and we took 2 old songs from early demos to do the 2020 version

Are all the works of your band recorded in a professional studio? Which sound engineer mixed the work for you?

the early demos are a rehearsal takes, "the GORE party" recorded with our own materials and I do the mix, "the GORY foetal feast" sessions recorded by Benj (our actual sound engeneer for gigs), the MCD "Putrefying..." is a rehearsal take and the latest CD were recorded + mix with real pro material by Juju a good friend. to record the full lengh album we'll use a studio with probably several engeneers to have the most brutal bulldozer sound of the band's history !

Your music themes are very common grindcore music themes, so what kind of emotion do you want to express through these music themes? Some of your band's songs also have lyrics. So who created these lyrics and where did the inspiration come from?

we try to make a catchy & raw music with old school ENERGY and it's true, all lyrics are not innovating in the genre but I try to be more disgusting and I am inspired by the process of body decomposition, all forms of human torture and atrocities. all ideas/nightmare in the Dark side of my mind. lol the riffs are basically simple but the most important is to do a heavy music with putrid sounds from a purulent corpse.

Some of the early works of your band were released on a label called Imphalte. I am not very familiar with this label. I just know that they have released some albums for you. Can you introduce this label? Later, your band released works on Mierdas Productions, and Bizarre Leprous Production are very good labels. They have released albums for many bands. So which label do you think is satisfactory to you?

since 1999, imphalte is my label, I designed / press / produce / distribute the early CD and I did distribution all around the world (probably 5000 dispatched CD / DVD of the_foetus !) imphalte took a break from 2006 to 2018, but now I re-start the label to promote the band and more . you can see the online catalogue on http://imphalte.free.fr and click on mailorder menu to download the pdf file. since 2017, I ask to a pro label to manage the pressing part, the distribution. we have some free copies and it's ok for us. I have very few free time and now I can't do all steps for the release of new album. it take too much time and I prefer to ask to a tradesman.

Your band’s logo is very beautiful, so who designed this logo for you? The album artwork of your band has also changed greatly. Is the artwork for these albums also designed by the same designer for you?

i drawn the logo in '95 during my boring days (military service) in my bedroom. in 2006 when we release "years of GOREmageddon" Mike from MYTHRID ART work on the complete artwork and make some effects on it. in 2017, MORE THAN GROSS (art designer for the DISGORGED FOETUS tribute) work again on the logo with more shades of colors and in hi-def resolution. he do the cover for the next album and it's really disgusting, for sure !

In 2017, Mucupurulent Productions, Sounds Of A Good Spank, Toilet Records, Cataleptic Remains Production released a tribute album for your band. There are a total of 27 bands influenced by you from Mexico and other countries. Participating in it is the best recognition of a great band. How do you feel when you know how this tribute album was released?

as explained above, it was a tornado of emotions because it's a pleasure to notice that a lot of bands support the_foetus and for respect we listen all theirs DF versions on this CD tribute but on youtube too. it's a lovely GORE Family and that why DF is again active now. :-)

First of all, congratulations to your band for releasing the latest ep album "Re Degradating the Tissues" in 2020. Although I have not heard this album yet, I believe it is a very good album, but I have an impression of your band’s early works. Very deep, distorted bass guitar, there are some slower parts in the song mixed with some middle rhythm parts, your band’s early albums make me feel very much like German GUT, Carcass and Regurgitate, so for your band’s Do you have any opinions about the works? Is there any difference between the new works released later and the earlier works?

thank you for your congrats, it's a pleasure to read all this. you're right in the EP 2020 we try to do the following of our first 2 demos, basically and raw with a powerfull & deep sound. Juju, the studio engeneer did an excellent job to have this deep sound effect with a good drum sound. it was hard for him because it was the first time he produced an Extreme Metal band. I think that's the explanation that "Re-Degradating" has a particular mix like none of our previous releases. We are really proud of this effort from all the Boys who worked on this EP. for all fans of the_foetus who need this EP, ask your copie to imphalte-distro@orange.fr, few copies left.

in early 2000, with Nono (first drummer of the_foetus) we organize IMPH'AMES festival in our town (3 times) and it's simple to add your band on the line-up when it's you who chooses who will play, lol. and we had a pro TV team to record our performance (you can find "3 promo video tracks" on youtube) the bonus pictures was a memory of friends, party and all excess of good times. DVD includes some hidden video and home made video clips. we are proud of this "low budget" DVD because it's the best of the_foetus for the first century.

M: 2020年你的最新EP专辑出炉后，今年有什么新工作要做吗？ 喜欢录制一些新歌？

After you release your latest EP album in 2020, do you have any new work to be done this year? Like recording some new songs?

D: 7 月，我们与 Fat Tub of Lard Records（6 种不同的设计）一起发布了我们的第一个官方 T 恤系列，同时我们制作了一个带有全新曲目的专业视频剪辑，名为"the delicious fumes of the putrid scent of moldy bodies"（祝你胃口大开，哈哈）我们在八月份进行了第一次拍摄，视频剪辑将在十月份提供，然后，我们进入录音室录制完整的专辑长度,如果疫情结束，明年，我们希望能在路上现场演奏我们的新曲目，毁掉你对 GORE 的耳朵，我的朋友们

in july we release our first official t-shirt collection with Fat Tub of Lard Records (6 different designs) and in the same time we work on a pro video clip with a completly new track called "the delicious fumes of the putrid scent of moldy bodies" (bon appetit, lol) we do the first shot in august and the video clip will be available in october, then, we enter the studio to record the full lengh album and if the pandemic situation is extinguished,next year, we hope to be on the road to play live our new tracks and destroy your ears to the GORE my friends

M: 你对中国有什么了解吗？ 比如中国的历史、食物或者一些来自中国的乐队？

Do you know anything about China? Such as Chinese history, food or some bands from China?

D: 老实说，除了中国是最早发明“印刷工艺”的国家之一之外，我对中国的chistory一无所知。当然，还有下午茶时间和食物。 因为我很贪吃，我喜欢发现原汁原味的食物，在专门的餐馆里，中国菜当然很好吃。我认为你读这篇文章很经典，但我喜欢nems，有时我们会和我的宝贝一起吃一个特殊的时间。我也喜欢，在 80 年代 / 90 年代的电影（武术、武士）中。 当我年轻的时候，我看了几部很棒的电影，我留下了很棒的纪念品，因为它与欧洲的视野非常不同。我喜欢中国每个人之间的尊重。 这是我的愿景。 也许你不同意我的看法。关于中国的乐队，我们知道的乐队很少：Rectal Wench，Impure Injection。 很难听到来自中国的乐队

to be honest, I don't really know Chinese chistory except that China is one of the firsts to invent the "printing process ". and of course, tea time & food. because I'm greedy and I like to discover original food, for sure Chinese food is good here in specialized restaurants. I think it's very classic for you to read this, but I love nems and with my darling some times we do it oursleves to eat for a special time. I like too, in the 80's / 90's movies (martial arts, samouraï). when I was young i saw several excellent movies and I keep an excellent souvenir because it's a very very different approach than european vision. I love the respect between each person in china. it's my vision from here. perhaps you're not agree with me. about music bands in China, we know very few bands : Rectal Wench, Impure Injection. it's hard to ear about band's from China
