Cultivating global citizens who embody “Mastery for Service”
Cornelius John Lighthall Bates, the fourth Chancellor of Kwansei Gakuin University, proposed the school motto, “Mastery for Service,” to support the founding philosophy of the university. Our school mission is to foster global citizens who embody “Mastery for Service” in accordance with the principles of Christian education. Global citizens are people with the ability to communicate and empathize with others, and who will carry the responsibility to create a better world. Here at Kwansei Gakuin University, we envisage sending out graduates who will actively contribute internationally in both the public and corporate sectors, and become global leaders with the strength and dignity to guide others towards tackling and solving world problems.
