Fleetwood Mac

Peter Green主导的Fleetwood Mac (70年代以前) 和Lindsey & Stevie主导的Fleetwood Mac (70年代以后) 是很不一样的两个乐队，两个时期乐队的歌迷也是很不交叉的。Peter Green是英国人，那时候的Fleetwood Mac是一支英国的布鲁斯乐队，更加“艺术”和"自我"，而Lindsey Buckingham和Stevie Nicks是美国人，他俩的加入让Fleetwood Mac变成了更加“流行”的美国乐队，乐队后来在商业上取得的巨大成功大部分也要归功于这两人。

1975年，定居美国的乐团发行的那张同名专辑经过一段时间的蛰伏后渐入佳境，并取得了前所未有的成功，他们的黄金阵容——鼓手Mick Fleetwood，贝斯手John McVie和妻子Christine（有时直接称Chris），再加上偏向流行摇滚或民谣摇滚风格的情侣Lindsey Buckingham与Stevie Nicks——也就此正式成型。

有意思的是，在《Rumours》这张专辑的创作期，乐队经历了两对情侣的关系破裂：Christine McVie (键盘手、主唱) 和 John McVie (贝斯手) 离婚；Lindsey Buckingham (吉他手、主唱) 和Stevie Nicks (主唱) 分手。这称得上是张 "爱恨交织" 的专辑。甚至在现场 Lindsey唱 “Go Your Own Way” (歌词控诉了女友的背叛) 的时候，你能看到Stevie眼睛里的泪花。我挺佩服在这么纠结的情况下他们还能在一起做音乐，也许就像歌曲 “The Chain” 里唱到的，他们是一群被栓在一起的人。Chains ... keep us together.

这个乐队，各人写各人的歌，词曲唱是同一个人。

这一切都使得Stevie Nicks在摇滚乐史上拥有相当独特的地位，并影响无数后世女歌手。Sheryl Crow说Nicks的声音是“一种纯粹的脆弱性与力量的完美结合”，Blondie的Debbie Harry则赞叹Stevie Nicks以娇小的身躯却可以发生极为宏大、低沉的歌声，“非常性感”。Hole女主唱Courtney Love也说，“她的嗓音很荒谬却又如此美丽”，“她的声音总能安抚我，给我继续走下去的力量，让我勇敢。”
