Airbnb事件始末
一月底的时候和朋友去意大利语区的小城市旅行,定了一晚风景极佳的顶层公寓。房子和照片中的一模一样,绝佳的采光以及相当现代的家装。原本以为会是一场惬意完美的旅行体验,谁成想本人的噩梦就此开始。
第二天退完房,我和朋友去了临近的城市,正在那个城市的美术馆内闲逛的功夫,这间公寓通过Airbnb的聊天窗口告诉我,清洁人员发现房间的窗户裂开了,然后附上两张照片。

我当场石化,但也没有太紧张,因为走的时候我们还看了一眼窗外的风景,至少离开的时候玻璃是完好无损的。这时的房东也很客气,说还没弄清楚玻璃破碎的原因,暂时先不着急,希望我们在这个城市度过一个完美的周末,我说好的谢谢,然后就没把这件事放在心上。
一周之后,我下了课在回家的路上,鬼使神差想起来这件事,于是在平台上询问玻璃的事情,此时房东告诉我,玻璃是从内部裂开的,他需要立刻上报平台官方,于是在一小时内我的邮箱里就收到一笔要价:1680CHF。看到那个数字,我惊呼这不是抢劫是什么?平台的自动回复说是要在72h内支付,否则平台官方就要介入。我自认有理,但确实苦于没有足够的证据证明不是我,于是抽了个时间研究了房东发给我的两张照片,试图研究语言逻辑的漏洞,写了一篇my-side story。
【my story】
First and foremost I have to say that we didn’t break the window.
According to my past reviews I am apparently a tidy person and each time before I leave I always do the cleaning stuff even I already paid for service fees or cleaning fees. Plus I’ve been using this platform for three years which can prove my excellent personal credit.
According to the chat history between us, I took the initiative to ask for an update about the broken window after ONE WEEK because I am very aware that it is not my fault but still trying to be a caring person. The host claimed that the window was broken from the inside which I CAN NOT prove since I already left for a week, and then they requested 1380 CHF for 1sqm glass. Our fault is that we didn’t take the photo before we left since I never encountered anything like this. Currently, I haven’t received any testing report on the broken window and the official pricing quote of the window as well. I personally doubt if it is made of tempered glass since normal glass has the possibility of SELF-EXPLODING.
And then let’s look at the first picture carefully. From the picture, you can find a near diagonal crack without any tiny cracks near it. That is very strange. If you ever accidentally break any glass you must know the cracks should be dispersed from the point of FORCE.
The second picture was taken when the cleaner was there since the position of pillows changed(Normally I will put them back to their original position). I can’t help but still doubt if there is a possibility that the cleaner broke the window and then did some cleaning stuff and took the photo before he left, otherwise he will definitely notice the crack of the window when he entered the room and took the photo IMMEDIATELY.
To sum up, unless you can eliminate the possibility that the cleaner accidentally broke the window, eliminate the possibility of glass self-exploding, and prove we are the only suspects, in this case, otherwise you cannot call us for a claim without enough evidence.
几天以后,平台的claims team给我发了一封邮件,让我提供explanation of the damage reported/ any communication-related/any supporting documents to support your file.
看的我一口老血喷出来,人不能找证据证明自己没做的事情。于是我把之前整理的聊天记录,我的个人过往旅行记录评价,以及我对房东说的内容的一些怀疑都一一罗列了一番,最后甚至放了一句狠话:如果没有足够的证据证明是我们导致的损失,那我非常不介意打官司。
三小时后收到平台官方自动回复的第二个报价,此时房东的要价变成了915.45CHF,

点开链接只剩下一个支付选择,还得是人民币单位支付(我猜跟我填的地区有关),正好6280块。我心想别说是降了700法郎我就会妥协,我啥也没干还给你当冤大头,想得美。
但此时我的朋友JS(华人女性,在当地工作三年)说,万一对方起诉你,对你之后在这里租房和找工作都有很大的影响,我当时有点慌张,因为最近我正好在找房子。于是我找另一个瑞士人朋友询问这件事(正好此人之前有类似的情况发生),他说你要是确实没做,你也可以就这样耗着,但我担心你没有足够的时间handle这个事情。此时的我已经有点想打退堂鼓,甚至告诉了父母这件事,父母觉得付钱买教训就行了,不要惹火上身。
此时我再次回复了claims team,说我想看房东那边提供的证据,但他们居然告诉我这是不可以提供的,但是他们决定为房东提供了host guarantee,可以全额cover他们的损失,但我的账号会被标记(who cares),这件事到此终于结束了。
这次学到的教训:在外小心谨慎永不为过,走的时候给房间录像很有必要,以及酒店>>>>>民宿。
【p.s. 我爸知道我全程一个人处理完这件事后非常开心,于是给他自己换了一个新iPhone。
