Rent 吉屋出租
说在前面，这是一部值得N刷的音乐剧。
我第一次看Rent这部音乐剧的时候，并没有觉得这部剧有多么的棒，尽管在观影过程中也感动哭了。可能一是对Rent的期待值过高，在看之前就有不少同好安利这部剧，还有人奉为最棒的音乐剧没有之一；二是这部剧以社会边缘人士作为主体，但这个社会群体跟我的生活圈子有点远，代入困难之下共鸣也少了。现在想来，是我的无知跟浅薄限制了我的思考，当时的我没有觉得自己没有看懂这部剧，但是当时的我懂显然不是现在的我懂，以后的我懂也可能不是今天的我懂，甚至一直可能都不存在我懂。
在我看来，毫无疑问，这是一部充满哲思的音乐剧。
我对Rent的改观源于最近在听的音乐剧歌单。当我随机到Tango: Maureen的时候突然就被旋律吸引了（一刷的时候只觉得歌的水平在众多剧里绝对能算中上，但没有觉得catchy），再单独循环整张专，认真看歌词之后，却读出了很多我之前不加思考的弦外之音。
首先是我最喜欢的也是最近开车时间的单循BGM over the moon。
Last night I had a dream. I found myself in a desert called Cyberland.
It was hot. My canteen has sprung a leak and I was thristy.
Out of abyss walked a cow -- Elsie.
I asked if she had anything to drink.
She said,"I'm forbidden to product milk. In Cyberland, we only drink Diet Coke."
She said,"Only thing to do is jump over the moon."
"They've closed everything real down...like barns, troughs, performance spaces...
And replaced it all with lies and rules and virtual life.
But there is a way out ..."
(伴奏:Leap of faith, leap of faith.)
"Only thing to do is jump over the moon."
I gotta get out of here! It's like I'm being tied to the hood of a yellow rental truck, being packed in with fertilizer and fuel oil, pushed over a cliff by a suicidial Mickey Mouse!

Then a little bulldog entered. His name, we have learned, was Benny. And although he once had principles, He abandoned them to live as a lap dog to a wealthy daughter of the revolution. oh-1-2-3-"That's bull," he said. "Ever since the cat took up the fiddle, that cow's been jumpy. And the dish and the spoon were evicted from the table -- and eloped ... She's had trouble with that milk and the moon ever since. Maybe it's a female thing. 'Cause who'd want to leave Cyberland anyway?... Walls ain't so bad. The dish and the spoon for instance. They were down on their luck - they come knocked on my doghouse door. I said, "Not in my backyard, utensils! Go back to China!",
"The only way out is up," Elsie whispered to me. "A leap of faith. Still thirsty?", Parched. "Have some milk.", and I lowered myself beneath her swollen udder, And I sucked the sweetest milk I'd ever tasted.", "Climb on board," she said. And as a harvest moon rose over Cyberland, we reared back, we sprang into a gallop. Leaping out of orbit!!!
I awoke singing, (伴奏:Leap of faith, leap of faith.) Only thing to do, Only thing to do is jump, Only thing to do is jump over the moon, Only thing to do is jump over the moon, Over the moon -- over the, Moooooooo,
Moo with me. "Please, sir, could you give me a long moo", "moo", yes! yes!moo with me! yes!moo with me! yes! it sound beautiful! moo! let me hear you new york city!
这首歌里有非常多浅显易懂的隐喻（看过剧的应该都能知道），包括Cyberland指的是Benny一家对这片区的改造后的世界，forbidden to product milk指的是压缩这些社会边缘艺术家的生存空间等......
但这首歌让我想起了马尔库塞提到的社会变革。
首先是革命主体的变化，马尔库塞认为工人阶级已经失去革命的力量，因为他们已经被纳入资本主义社会体制里面，而社会边缘人士、学生则会成为新的革命主体，因为他们尚未被体系接纳。这大概就是Benny lost 的 principles，他被接纳进社会体系了，而 wealthy daughter of the revolution则是使用资本的力量来同化社会群体。（Rent里面有一首La Vie Boheme， 描述的乌托邦就是在这个社会体系规制以外的哲学家们追求的真正的“人的解放”。）
而歌曲不断重复的jump over the moon，也跟马尔库塞提出的革命方式“大拒绝”不谋而合。要有全面的勇气进行信仰之跃，跳脱出社会系统/框架，而且这也是唯一的方式。
另外我怀疑这里的China有双重隐喻，Utensils evicted from the table and knok my doghouse，Benny不允许他们在backyard煽动，go back to China! 一是Utensils属于瓷器，go back to China 意味着go back to where you're from 而不是留在这个即将要被改造的Cyberland, 二是China是一个相对守旧（没有变革）或社会主义的地方。
这首歌里面还有一些特别有意思的设计，Cyberland，Diet Coke这些社会体制内反人性的东西（Diet Coke这个词用的特别有意思，有一种自欺欺人的感觉，算是replaced lies的一员）用的是重复电子音，电子音是冷漠的，完全疏离整个歌曲气质的，以示这个所谓的Benny 们的“dreamed land”是反人性的。而唱到jump over the moon的时候，用的是非常appealing的唱腔，虽然这么说不对但是很像海妖的歌声。刚开始的jump over the moon 还是稍显温柔，越到后面的越有力量，最后moo with me达到最高潮。
最后还有一个小思考，revolution这个词在这里其实有个双重驳论。首先他们所处的这个area在改造前属于不在社会框架内的地区，而revolution指的就是资本进入后对原有规则的改变使其同化在大的社会里面。但是，其实片地区在框架以外这件事情本身就是一个revolution的存在。而拒绝同化加入主流本身这个行为，也算是一个revolution。
写着写着，我又想了下，当时为什么对这部剧的我懂理解会不一样，其实或许不是不一样，而是对现在的我懂视而不见而推脱给由于主体群体不同圈子没发引起太大共鸣。也就是说可能仅仅是由于我已经对这些熟视无睹了。就像一个东西，它存在着很久之后，或许大家就不会发问它为什么存在？也不会去追问why and how。当然不断地追问或许也会带来新的问题，追问是无穷无尽的，而且很可能是无法解答的。
这篇日记，我越写越能感觉到自己语言表达的匮乏......
还有好几首很喜欢的歌，但大概写不下去了。我，一个脑子乱七八糟又执行力约等于零的摸鱼打工人。
