Sonnet 75 William Shakespeare
So are you to my thoughts as food to life,
Or as sweet-seasoned showers are to the ground;
或是甘霖之于大地;
And for the peace of you I hold such strife
As 'twixt a miser and his wealth is found; 4
就像一个吝啬之人和其财富的关系;
Now proud as an enjoyer, and anon
Doubting the filching age will steal his treasure;
担心年老的窃贼会把他的财宝偷去;
Now counting best to be with you alone,
Then bettered that the world may see my pleasure; 8
又想着把这快乐向世人炫耀;
Sometime all full with feasting on your sight,
And by and by clean starved for a look;
然后又渐渐饥饿难耐,想把你瞄上一瞄;
Possessing or pursuing no delight
Save what is had or must from you be took. 12
Thus do I pine and surfeit day by day,
Or gluttoning on all, or all away.
