If you had a cold in the late 1800s, your doctor would prescribe heroin as a cough suppressant. If you had schizophrenia in the 1930s, your doctor would perform a lobotomy. But despite the increase in knowledge and research, doctors still aren't perfect. Even today, your doctor's not likely to offer pain relief for an IUD placement, even though it can be more agonizing than a vasectomy. We expect doctors to not make mistakes. 几位前辈的第一次Solo：

Bailey是她们那一届第一个赢得Solo的人，是appendectomy。

Cristina是五小强中第一个得到Solo的人，但当时发生了很多事，导致她没有资格做这个手术。更残酷的是她必须从同学中选择一个人来进行这个Solo。这是第五季第10集，All By Myself。

Cristina最终选择了Alex，手术是膝下截肢。也是第五季第10集，All By Myself。

Cristina最终在第五季第18集拿到她的第一个Solo，疝气修复。S5E18，Stand By Me。这个时间的克里斯 蒂娜正忙着给Izzie寻找治疗方案。但手术还是完美无瑕。

Meredith的第一个Solo是在第五季第22集，What a Difference a Day Makes，是colectomy，结肠切除术，来自Derek的结婚礼物。

Cristina的第一个心外Solo，是泰迪给的。第六季第11集，Blink，瓣膜置换术。完美。

相比较而言，Simone这集的手术一点儿也不浪漫和戏剧化。
