兰迪 波许教授的最后一课 Randy Pausch
1
when you’re screwing up and nobody’s saying anything to you anymore, that means they gave up.
And that’s a lesson that stuck with me my whole life. Is that when you see yourself doing something badly and nobody’s bothering to tell you anymore, that’s a very bad place to be. Your critics are your ones telling you they still love you and care.
2
But remember, the brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something.
Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.
但请记住,砖墙在那里是有原因的。砖墙不是要挡住我们。砖墙是要给我们机会说明我们有多
迫切的想得到。因为砖墙是要阻挡那些不诚心的人,那些其他人。
3
when you’repissed off at somebody and you’re angry at them, you just haven’t given them enough time. Just give them a little more time and they’ll almost always impress you.
4
And I think that that’s one of the best things you can give somebody – the chance to show them what it feels like to make other people get excited and happy.
5
Mothers are people who love even when you pull their hair.
6
Never lose the childlike wonder. It’s just too important. It’s what drives us.
7
When it comes to men that are romantically interested in you, it’s really simple. Just ignore everything they say and only pay attention to what they do. It’s that simple. It’s that easy. And I thought back to my bachelor days and I said, damn.
8
Never give up. I didn’t get into Brown University. I was on the wait list. I called them up and they eventually decided that it was getting really annoying to have me call everyday so they let me in.
9
So. How do you get people to help you? You can’t get there alone. People have to help you and I do believe in karma. I believe in paybacks. You get people to help you by telling the truth. Being earnest. I’ll take an earnest person over a hip person every day, because hip is short term. Earnest is long term.
10
Apologize when you screw up and focus on other people, not on yourself.
11
Get a feedback loop and listen to it. The hard part is the listening to it. Anybody can get chewed out. It’s the rare person who says, oh my god, you were right. As opposed to, no wait, the real
reason is… We’ve all heard that. When people give you feedback, cherish it and use it.
12
Don’t complain. Just work harder. That’s a picture of Jackie Robinson. It was in his contract not to complain, even when the fans spit on him.
13
Be good at something, it makes you valuable.
14
And be prepared. Luck is truly where preparation meets opportunity.
15
You can't control the cards you're dealt, just how you play the hand.
