Crusader is an architect by training and an urban historian. His research and creative works revolves around contemporary urban scene with a focus on urban infrastructure and regulatory environment. He has recently published a book discussing the "New Urbanism" in the Chinese context.
Crusader earned his PhD at the Department of Architecture and Urban Design, UCLA, in 2014. His dissertation investigates Hong Kong's civic spaces in relation with high density, consumerism and mobility. At UCLA he co-teaches courses on programming theory and urban design. His previous researches and creative works include design methodology, digital visualization and transit-oriented place-making.
Crusader was trained as an architect (Tongji University and University of Michigan, Ann Arbor) and an architectural and urban historian (UCLA).In 2017, as one of the two curators, he exhibited the "Code City" project at the first Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism.
